Biden announces glove mandate — 33 Comments

  1. Had me going there for a minute, Neo! Then I looked at the calendar.

Biden remembering something that was commonplace 150 years ago was a nice touch.

  2. Loved it! You left out one little-known detail: the very-very-rich not only wore chicken skin gloves — they wore them with the pin feathers still intact! For that very light touch, of course! And to REALLY prove that they did not engage any manual labor!

  3. I believe the mask mandate is worthless and should be removed. The glove should only be worn if you have a open wound. Viruses are ultra small, they travel by aerosol so if your breath can get through your mask, so can the virus. Size does matter.

  4. Here is a not funny April Fools; Bidet does in fact impose a must wear gloves policy – and supported by many demonkrat governors, the media, etc., and the majority of citizens just obey it; no questions asked.

What was that about the “good Germans?

  5. Neo, if you ever give up your blog you should start writing for the Bee. You skirt just close enough to the plausible to be believable. 🙂

  6. Women wore gloves routinely as recently as my childhood. The 1940s anyway. They also wore veils of fine mesh with hats. Men wore hats until Kennedy changed the style.

  7. Physicsguy, I was going to inquire whether she was quoting from my favorite news source. (If I am going to read fake news, I want it plainly labeled as fake.) Now, I realize this all leapt like an Easter Bunny from her own fertile mind.

  8. Darn it! You got me!! I had even done a few, minor April fool’s pranks earlier in the day. Yet, when I popped back here I had completely forgotten what day it was and the post seemed very plausible. I only questioned it near the end, when I thought it odd you hadn’t lambasted the policy in any way.

    Well done!

  9. There is no satire or April Fool’s prank you can write that is too ludicrous to not be considered by liberals.

  10. No joke, the government facilities I work at mandate gloves, but only for the security contractors. Management need not even wear masks, because they might not be understood giving orders in an emergency.

  11. Yeah, I was about to fall hook, line and sinker until the Biden* attributed quote “Remember from a hundred and fifty years ago? I certainly do!”

    Good one.

  12. The evolution of fabric mask wearing recommendations for the public by the W.H.O. Courtesy of the WayBackMachine. No joke.

    May 16, 2020

If you are healthy, you only need to wear a mask if you are taking care of a person with COVID-19.

Wear a mask if you are coughing or sneezing.

Masks are effective only when used in combination with frequent hand-cleaning with alcohol-based hand rub or soap and water.

If you wear a mask, then you must know how to use it and dispose of it properly.

Non-medical, fabric masks are being used by many people in public areas, but there has been limited evidence on their effectiveness and WHO does not recommend their widespread use among the public for control of COVID-19. However, for areas of widespread transmission, with limited capacity for implementing control measures and especially in settings where physical distancing of at least 1 metre is not possible – such as on public transport, in shops or in other confined or crowded environments – WHO advises governments to encourage the general public to use non-medical fabric masks.
    ________

    Today

Maintain at least a 1-metre distance between yourself and others to reduce your risk of infection when they cough, sneeze or speak. Maintain an even greater distance between yourself and others when indoors. The further away, the better.

Make wearing a mask a normal part of being around other people. The appropriate use, storage and cleaning or disposal are essential to make masks as effective as possible.

Here are the basics of how to wear a mask:
–Clean your hands before you put your mask on, as well as before and after you take it off, and after you touch it at any time.
–Make sure it covers both your nose, mouth and chin.
–When you take off a mask, store it in a clean plastic bag, and every day either wash it if it’s a fabric mask, or dispose of a medical mask in a trash bin.
    –Don’t use masks with valves.

    _______

You are hereby instructed to forget that the W.H.O. ever stated the following:
… but there has been limited evidence on their [fabric masks] effectiveness and WHO does not recommend their widespread use among the public for control of COVID-19.

  13. There is no satire or April Fool’s prank you can write that is too ludicrous to not be considered by liberals.

    alanc709:

True. And it’s a problem. Satire that’s hard to recognize is just painful.

If Jonathan Swift wrote “A Modest Proposal” today about selling babies to the rich as a foodstuff, we would be confused because the rich would already be eating amputated baby limbs as an appetizer and it wouldn’t be much of a jump.

  14. Joe will talk to Hunter tonight and then issue an executive order mandating bikinis as soon as the average daily temperature in Delaware reaches 80.

  15. Men in Hats. You shoulda mentioned Men in hats. Pictures from the 30’s and 40’s show all sorts of men wearing all sorts of hats.

And the plaque can jump from head to head at the staggering distance of 3000 millimeters! Just ask any reputed Scientist. Like Dr. Bill Nye — the no-science guy.

  16. After being in the out patient surgery yesterday in Dr’s office I’m convinced the MASK is here FOREVER!

Every single person in waiting room had been vaccinated and every single office worker had been also … everyone was required to wear a mask … period. I don’t see this going away ever.

Not a single person was there with any symptoms of covid.

BTW the Dr, nurses, office staff had gloves on … LOL

    No April Fool …

  17. I didn’t catch it at Bidens* “hundred and fifty years ago” because, well, Biden*
I had to get all the way to chicken skin gloves . . .

  18. Cap’n Rusty:

Ah, but the beauty of it is that the chicken skin glove part is TRUE.

    Follow the link. True.

  19. I thought the glove mandate was so that when they tell us to bend over for an examination they don’t get their hands soiled.

  20. I am Sparticus:

That’s the CCP protocol. US State Department has already been early adopters IIRC.

  21. “Then I looked at the calendar….”

I dunno. Seems these days like every single day is April 1. Several times over.

(Either that or a particularly ghoulish Hallowe’en…)

  22. To a certain extent, I’m disappointed.

I was looking forward to seeing the “MAKE ME DO STUPID STUFF!!! OOOOHHHH YEAAHHH!” crowd jump on this.

  23. Huh …

It is easy to imagine the outrage of Biden Administration admirers as they read the provocative claim contained within an article written by an admittedly conservative leaning lawyer and family counselor, who currently blogs by the name of “The New Neo”

In one of her latest postings she has controversially asserted that in addition to extending the mask mandate, President Joe Biden has ordered gloves also be worn by the American people as an additional protective measure to help stem and reduce the spread of the Covid pandemic.

Some have questioned the validity of this piece, and accused its author of promoting fake news. In order to sort it out we assigned our top analyst and resident expert on journalistic practices to briefly review the original blog entry which remains up at this time.

He reports back that although the author identifies no sources by name, this practice is viewed as both common and acceptable journalistic practice.

Furthermore, it is notable that no member of the Biden administration has emerged in his or her official capacity to categorically deny the thrust of the article. Nor, has the administration issued any press releases rebutting the fact that the President or his delegatees have promulgated such a gloving order, planned such a gloving order, considered it either formally or informally, or thought about it or about gloves in some way.

Confirmation also exists by way of the fact that imagery which does document both the President and his son Hunter wearing gloves, appears to be genuine,

We have also detected no evidence that the image of a purported health care worker depicted as wearing both a mask and glove, is not the image of a real person modeling the combined deployment of both these prophylactic aids.

Add to this that the article links to great deal of irrefutable historical information concerning the wearing of gloves for their protective qualities, and it leads us to conclude that this article, is according to the canons and current best practices of modern journalism …

    “MOSTLY TRUE”

  24. I confess. More often than not I fall for neo’s april fool gems. Very imaginative.

In my defense, there’s nothing I put beyond the left both in deceitfulness and in sheer idiocy.

Seriously though, get ready for federal lockdowns. Thousands of Covid-19 positive illegal immigrant children are being spread around the country. When cases go up, more lockdowns will follow and Xiden will claim if only people had followed his advice…

Destroy the livelihoods of the independent middle business class and you render a majority of those who oppose the left without the fiscal resources to fund the fight against America’s destruction.
