The alleged Portland head-kicker caught on video turns himself in
It will be interesting to see what sort of sentence Marquise Lee Love receives, if any:
The Black Lives Matter rioter who was caught on-camera kicking a truck driver in the face in a vicious, unprovoked attack last weekend in Portland, has been arrested on multiple felony charges.
Marquise Lee Love, 25, “turned himself in Friday morning after detectives and the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office coordinated with his attorney,” Fox12 reported.
The Black Lives Matter agitator was booked into the Multnomah County Jail on charges of “second-degree assault, coercion, and riot,” according to Portland Police. His bail was set at $260,000.
I wrote “alleged” in the title of the post, but I’m being kind there, because the ironically-named Love has already pretty much confessed on social media:

When I first saw the video, it was one of the rare instances I was truly shocked and my stomach turned a bit. If Harris wins, we can all expect to be pulled from our cars and beaten for being white.

Bail at $260,000? A pittance when the BLM has an organization that’s raising bail money for their troops. He’s out and will undoubtedly continue to “Peacefully protest.” The DA will not prosecute the case – it will be plea bargained or dismissed. Please, dear God, make me wrong.
Physicsguy is probably correct. If Biden/Harris win, beware of getting near any “protests” or even driving in the wrong section of any major city. It will be open season on “privilege.”
My prediction? Plea bargain of forty hours of community service, which will be served in some get-out-the-vote non-profit.

It might be interesting to hit the BLM organization with a huge lawsuit because of the actions of their security guard. (Not their guard? No one objected when he was running around wearing a security guard costume.)
And if BLM fronts the bail money, they’ve just as much as admitted the thug was acting as their agent, and the lawsuit can proceed on the theory of agency.
Presumably the victim can sue his assailant in a civil action. Obviously the assailant will be judgement proof but maybe the lien can follow him into whatever he does in the future, dogging his steps and dimming his prospects for many years to come. Add to that some kind of “digital leper’s bell” so that his FB and other accounts will warn every reader that this guy is a vicious outlaw.
Why doesn’t some tech type come up with such a marker?
Don’t know if the DA will choose not to prosecute as he said that the peaceful protestors had an “instinctual” reaction to attack which was a response to the presence and actions of police. The DA may have to expand the instinctual response to all non- BIPOC individuals. It is a systemic “instinctual” response no doubt. The DA would not imply that BIPOCs have less than the full range of behavioral responses to situations of life (are less than fully human)? Or is he implying that?

If justice were to served, he would get 25 years in jail, no chance of parole.
However, his sentence should be reduced to 15 years provided he is allowed to kick in the head the Mayor of Portland and the Gov. of Oregon, but only after they have been first beat up by their ANTIFA thugs/pals and their homes set ablaze.
He should only serve 7 years if he agrees to be dumped off in Havana, Cuba , lose his US citizenship and never again allowed to set foot in the USA or any of it’s possessions. He most likely would welcome this; trading in a small jail cell for an island-nation, sun drenched prison.
Check out what the Mayor of Chicago , Lori Lightbrains, ordered after her good pals at BLM / ANTIFA began “peacefully” protesting at her home; she ordered full time armed guards / police to cordon off the street.
It is unfortunate that the cops , in this instance, are doing their job.
Just goes to show the hypocrisy and elitism of many elected officials; it’s OK that the rioters destroy the businesses and homes and property of other folks, but just don’t expect the ruling class allow their property / lives to be destroyed.
On a more serious note, IMHO, Marquise Lee will get a slap on the wrist.

Karl Lembke: I like your idea. It would be good to apply some of Alinsky’s Rules to BLM: find, freeze, fix the target. Even if no big damage award resulted, they would have to spend for lawyers; and –to me the big win– it would be very valuable to get some discovery. Who’s who, what is the chain of command and control, who gave what orders and issued what funding and equipment for the operation in which Mr. Love was involved. Put that stuff into the public record.

My view of the Lawfare strategy is that it complements the direct approach: more than one salient can be pursued. So he turned himself in. I was really hoping that he would never show up or be seen or heard from again. I guess people aren’t mad enough yet. Love has a long rap sheet and has served no jail time at all.
Maybe he turned himself in because it’s the safest, most secure option for his immediate future. If he is even prosecuted, he won’t draw much of a sentence in that particular microcosm, and even that will probably be curtailed out of fear of ‘systemic racism’ or the terror that he might catch the dreaded virus. I bet he’ll be out before his victim recovers his ability to think clearly, or gets his teeth fixed, or gets over his recurring headaches.
We have a Department of Justice that is supposed to administer established Codes of Law, but it doesn’t seem to have much currency these days in certain places, where concepts are re-imagined and modernized. ‘Social Justice’. ‘Racial Justice’. In Oregon, the average prison time served for second degree assault is 5 1/2 years. It’s not one of the crimes our feckless D.A. has said he will let people get away with so we will see.
