Draining the swamp, part thousand — 8 Comments

  1. Barr’s recent speech about the “unitary executive” caused great fear and trembling among the DC cognoscenti.

  2. Democrats are accusing Trump of “weaponizing” the Department of Justice. As usual, they are projecting. As Adams summarizes, the zenith of DOJ weaponization was reached during the Obama administration.

It takes time to grasp the depth of swamp-dweller infestation across several government agencies. Milestones along the way revealed that the problem was worse than imagined. Similar to compounding interest, the deep state (political operatives posing as bureaucrats) over years hired fellow deep staters until most of Uncle Sam was consumed by parasitic rot. That process coincidentally mirrored the postmodernist takeover of academia.

Aside from a few high profile firings and prosecutions, cleanup at lower government levels will be tedious.

  3. Trump should have started hunting out and hiring people like Christian Adams the day after his election.

The institutionalist Republicans? I’d guess that is a little different than the GOPe, though probably closely related.

  4. Sundance has two articles that everyone needs to read. The one about the Flynn sentencing noted above by Snow on Pine. Very important.

“the baseline is that Wolfe could not be prosecuted without running the risk of collapsing key institutions of the U.S. government. The consequences of a Wolfe prosecution were beyond the capacity of Rod Rosenstein, or the DOJ to handle. There would have been massive constitutional crises created and the literal definition of ‘sedition‘ was at the center of it.”

And the chaff and countermeasures one. https://theconservativetreehouse.com/2020/02/14/chaff-and-countermeasures-senator-graham-asks-ag-bill-barr-for-spygate-and-fisa-witnesses/#more-183659

  5. How frightened are the minions of the Deep State of Barr?

Check this story just out, about a supposed 1,100 former DOJ employees signing a letter calling for the resignation of current AG Barr, and urging current DOJ employees to stage an internal uprising against him.

  6. “And of course, it shouldn’t surprise anyone that the Democrats, the MSM, and most of Washington DC is outraged.”

I would say that much of the outrage at that level is feigned. Deep down…? I think they are terrified… as well they should be.
