Let me just say once again… — 21 Comments

  1. I too thought the skirt was too tight. While I like much of Melania’s wardrobe, I think some of it is “too much”.

Now I’m going to try to find a photo of what she wore to the dinner. (The menu sounded wonderful!)

  2. By the way, the hat made it difficult for the requisite kiss on both cheeks.

  3. What’s the matter with an all white suit? I have several of those, but of course I was in the Navy. We used to make jokes about our white uniforms causing people to mistake us for the good humor man. Those white uniforms were dirt magnets so I would usually not last a day without getting something on my uniform. We carried bags of white powder and if you got a smudge on your white uniform, you would use the white powder to cover it up.

  4. The woman can wear anything and look good.

    not true..
in fact i can tell you from working with a few hundred of the most beautiful highest paid looks onthe planet..

they actually dont always look good, thats what women sniping says….

in fact… when they dont do their thing..
    they become invisable..
beacuse they are the opitime of average

the most average is the least distance away from anything you like… so the most beautiful are very symetrical… and are super average… (if you average thousands of faces together you get stunning)…

the opposite as illustrated by artists, would be defined strong features that are not average… we dont like that as much, just look at davinci grotesques…

the best example of pretty is average you can see in pop culture is the girls behind Robert Palmer.. once you been in a cattle call of that, you realize they are quire boring looking

the only reason they are the dominants in that is that WOMEN think they are great… men mags do not have them… so women hate men for what women like, not what men like…

    funny..
but no, she wont make you look bad neo
THATS the cool thing about women THAT way
they make those next to them look better
go take a look… she doesnt make them look worse!!!

[of course if you want the trope about wearing burlap, thank lucile ball for fixing it in our pscyhe]

  5. Art:

That “aveage” business is about the symmetry of faces; it does not apply to Melania’s body.

Melania is almost 6 feet tall and even taller in stilettos: nothing whatsoever “average” about that.

Nor is her body the least bit average, in terms of women of 47 or really of any age.

I have stood next to women like that quite a few times in my life, in front of a mirror, and believe me, they make me look bad.

It’s okay, though. I’m no model and don’t pretend to be, and I don’t expect to look like one standing next to one.

But no, Melania’s body and stature and figure are not average, and although yes, she’s self-confident, it’s not just self-confidence that makes her stand out.

  6. Ray:

The only thing the matter with an all-white suit are (a) the cleaning bills (something Melania probably doesn’t need to worry about): and (b) they make a person look heavier (something she also doesn’t have a whole lot of problems with).

  7. “that I would not like to be standing next to Melania Trump, inviting comparisons.”

Is this the same Melania that earlier was a high-end fashion model? Tall and statuesque Melania?

Well, I wouldn’t want to be standing next to her inviting comparisons either. 🙂

  8. As a life long heterosexual male, I find nothing wrong with the tightness of the dress on Melania’s derrié¨re.

  9. I remember in the 2nd grade discovering girls were intriguing and had a certain desirability that I could not articulate at the time. Not all girls but especially the petite ones and even the plain Jane ones who had nice personalities. I ended up with a petite beauty that still flips my switch after almost 5 decades.

  10. Wow! If I were in the same room with her, my wife would be nudging me and whispering “stop staring” until eventually she would just turn me around.

So please remind me why Melania isn’t on the cover of Vogue but Michelle Obama and Caitlyn Jenner were?

    * * *
They haven’t found any way to make her beauty “fake news” —

  12. Not that there is anything with dressing casual; but, what I especially like about the Trump women is that they seem to so enjoy dressing up!

  13. I thought the dress (or was it a suit?) with the gold accents on the arms worn by Madame Macron at the State Dinner was magnificent.

  14. Fashion in certainly not my strong point. That being said, Melania Trump is a spectacularly beautiful woman.

  15. I like fashion, too. Such fun. And I think she looks great, tight pants and all.

  16. Got into a discussion recently regarding First Lady Melania’s almost non-existent appearance on magazine covers vs. First Lady Michelle, who appeared on dozens of covers. IMO, media bias has a lot to do with it (would be terrible to “normalize” the gorgeous, gracious, proud immigrant and former fashion model wife of the current prez!) But on the other hand, a magazine cover generally has a feature article that goes with it, and maybe Melania would prefer to to avoid those interviews and the hostile and intrusive questions that would likely go along with them.

Regardless, she looks fantastic in this outfit and basically everything she puts on. And she has certainly maintained her dignity and class in the face of everything that has been thrown at her and her family since the election.

  17. Melania looks great, as always! I like that she takes some risks.

I think a lot of designers are still boycotting her (have said they don’t want her to buy/borrow heir clothes), but that hasn’t harmed her one bit. Their loss.

  18. The other day I caught a glimpse of this hot looking chick [though one couldn’t see much of the face] who I thought was a photo of some English [the hat] Derby Day model from the mid sixties; and paid it no more attention.

It was the first lady, it turns out. Like the hair … what I could see of it, too.

Surprised me because she’s a little too “exotic” looking for my taste. The hat must shade her eyes and emphasize the lower face.

    Grrrrrrrufff
