Sony’s “The Interview” to be released on Christmas Day — 11 Comments

  1. Honestly, if it weren’t for the whole “high-level studio execs exposed as frothing racists when nobody’s looking” aspect of it, I’d think this whole hack incident was just a PR stunt, a last-ditch effort to rescue what may well be the modern version of “Ishtar” or “Spies Like Us”.

  2. What PCachu said. I’d be more apt to suspect a far-out last-ditch publicity stunt, rather than the Norks giving two s*its what Hollywood. Could be wrong, though – Kim Jung Tubby might be more sensitive to ridicule which leaks into the Hermit Kingdom.

  3. It could be both hack and publicity stunt. We can be pretty confident that the hack happened. No one voluntarily releases some of the information that was found there. But it’s also possible that the threat regarding The Interview was created by Sony on the spur of the moment in the aftermath of the hack.

  4. They’re going to show it here at The Plaza Theatre, a restored Art Deco venue in our bohemian district. I wouldn’t be afraid to go but honestly, I just don’t go to the movies anymore; too expensive, crappy-outrageously priced snacks and drinks, crowded, I could go on. Plus spotty writing.

If you’ve looked at the leaked trailers you already know the beginning, ending, and much of the in between.

I’ll only add that there is No Way this film can stand up the genius that is Team America, World Police. No way.

  5. Could be wrong, though — Kim Jung Tubby might be more sensitive to ridicule which leaks into the Hermit Kingdom.

The decreased father dictator was known to have quite a few foreign films stashed in.

  6. Young Kim isn’t as secure in his position as his father and grandfather were and this intenational mockery is sure to embolden his enemies within and encourage a coup. Kim will lash out both domestically and without, there will be many deaths, most of which we will no nothing about, yet he will fall by the end of next year.
