Well, now — 14 Comments

  1. Neo…

My prayers run in the exact opposite direction.

I WANT him to put a burr under their saddles.

  2. “Obama may learn (I hope!) that it’s not a good idea to piss off the press.”

neo, I hope he ^doesn’t^ learn that. (Don’t you?? [smile]) Then, more truth may out, and we may stand a better chance of reaching reachables.

  3. I think that the Obama bus must now be jacked up like one of those show monster trucks that you need a 16-foot ladder to get into.

And I so hope that I live long enough to see Eric ‘No-action Jackson’ Holder do a perp-walk. I can’t think of any Obama appointee who deserves it more.

  4. Spitballin’ here:
Holder signed off because nobody below him would do it; too scared or too ethical.
Holder signed off because that’s the only validating signature for seizing emails.
Holder signed off because he wanted the operators to know it was IMPORTANT, even though some under him might have been able to authorize it.
Holder never figured anybody outside Justice would know.
Holder signed off because he figured that, even if it got out, whatcha gonna do about it, chump.

  5. “Do you detect a movement to oust Holder?”

Steve, stop with the straight lines already.

  6. This is just a sign of open contempt for anyone and everything. They are getting bolder and bolder. They are losing their natural reluctance to “come out” as fascists. Hitler and the average German of the day were just dying to be what they were in public, out in the open. They were just itching to put on uniforms and march in the streets and shout from the rooftops about how right they were and how evil and wrong their opponents were.

Many of the so-called cultured Blue State liberals will relatively soon be behaving the same way, in public, as the proud Nazis Germans did in the 1930’s. All they need is the slightest chance and provocation.

Holder and Obama are certain the are right to intimidate FOX. That is not even a few inches away from being certain they are right to do to them what Nazis do to their enemies.

In not too long, Holder will be signing things on Network TV as a part of weeks long Show Trials where “enemies of the people” are fingered, investigated, charged, convicted and imprisoned or killed.

There is only one thing stopping these Nazis from going all the way, and that is the 2nd Amendment and once they have solved that problem it will be all over.

  7. Mike M said: “There is only one thing stopping these Nazis from going all the way, and that is the 2nd Amendment and once they have solved that problem it will be all over.”

All they need is for Saint Hil (“Historic Moment!! Bring out the Styrofoam Greek Columns again!! How DARE you say anything negative about her, you HATER!”) to win in 2016, and that pesky problem of the 2nd Amend will be will on its way to being solved. A couple more Dem appointed SC justices… All the blatantly (at present) unconstitutional state laws like the one Conn passed after Sandy Hook, and the NY laws….they will be upheld. With control of the House again, in either 2014 or 2016 (assuming it takes that long to get the newly minted amnesty citizens organized to vote Blue) – Feinsteins wildest fantasies will finally become a realty.

And people wonder why millions of gun owners are stocking up like crazy. They can turn law abiding citizens into felons (and be assured, they have every intention of doing so), but they can’t seize what they don’t know those citizens have.

People who think these scandals are going to result in positive changes for what was once America are probably the same people who were thoughtfully rubbing their chins halfway through Obama’s first term and were coming on here to opine that he wouldn’t run for re-election because he is lazy and it takes too much work. I think there was a movie about that kind if thinking. Oh yeah, it was called “Pollyanna.”

  8. Holder lied to Congress when testifying earlier this month. He said:

“First of all you’ve got a long way to go to try to prosecute the press for publication of material. This has not fared well in American history… In regard to potential prosecution of the press for the disclosure of material. This is not something I’ve ever been involved in, heard of, or would think would be wise policy.“

Gee, wonder how his investigation will go?

  9. Lizzy, I agree with you about the dismal prospects for Holder’s investigation of himself. But as for lying, look how carefully cagey he was in what he said — carefully referring to “prosecuting” the press and “potential prosecution.” Why of course he would NEVER do such a thing, and of course he has not done such a thing, because he knows such a prosecution would have been thrown out. What he did was sneakier than that: he persuaded a court that a reporter’s conduct was prosecutABLE in order to get a search warrant — got the court to believe that he MIGHT prosecute — and then carefully didn’t do that, just grabbed the warrant and the resulting information and ran. He can honestly say he never prosecuted a reporter. Persecution, now, that’s different. Abusing the apparatus of prosecution and prosecutorial discretion for political gain, well, that’s different too. But prosecution: nope, he certainly didn’t do that.

Jay Carney said something similar last week, limiting his remarks to “prosecution” of the press. This is a level of dissimulation equivalent to the Clintonian parsing of the definition of “is.” But within the distorted lens they apply to matters of integrity and honesty, they are carefully telling a plausibly deniable version of the “truth.”

  10. Alas, come election time it’s all “what difference does it make” for the average Obama lover.

  11. Hmm I see there is wide disagreement out there as to whether what Holder did constituted lying. The argument goes: either he lied to Congress — or he lied to the court. I hear that so far today, Daily Kos, the Huffington Post and Esquire have called for his resignation. Gee whiz!

  12. Wide disagreement with ME, I meant — referring to my previous post that he was careful not to lie to Congress. It appears many people don’t see it the way I did, especially since he was under oath at the time. I’m very happy to see it their way instead!
