Obama and his enemies — 18 Comments

  1. Obama’s “Don’t be stupid, quit your bitching, vote for me” campaign is actually brilliant, or as brilliant as can be had under dire circumstances. There certainly aren’t any accomplishments to brag on. Once he became an affirmative action superstar, petted as the model black man, that became reason enough to praise him, pass him, make a place for him at Columbia and Harvard Law, Illinois political offices, and the presidency. So what’s changed? — obviously, not the narcissist’s great expectations based on life long presumptions.

  2. Great article, Neo.

As I read it and read the questions Obama was asked, I couldn’t help but think how Bush was brutalized by the press during his tenure and how he took it without public complaint.

But then, Bush was a man with class…not a whiny metrosexual.

  3. Making the “haves” pay their fair share while running Air Force One at full tilt and enjoying the praises of our enemies while declaiming his own base: priceless.

  4. I’m thrilled to see you writing for PJMedia ….another of my favorite blogs.

(From a quiet but faithful long-time admirer and follower of yours.)

  5. Excellent.

The golden age of an objective press was a pretty narrow span of time in our history. I think it could be measured in nanoseconds.

Now, the Golden Age of the Facade of An Objective Press is finally drawing to its close, I think….

  6. This from the comments section:

“Honestly, I’m just tired of the man. I’m worn out. I just want him to go away, or at the very least, stop talking.”

    Don’t we all…

  7. What’s a guy to do without his trusty teleprompter, just sit there like a dumb-ass?

  8. Worn out? heck, i pegged him and everything and didnt budge on my position before he was even elected… taken how many years for glenn beck to catch up, and its taking longer than that for most wandering the continent…

Me too, pretty much. I became very concerned when the “cult of personality” stuff started up early in the primary season.

  10. Kudos on another great article, Neo.

I have to admit that I get a major schadenfreudish kick out of seeing Obama turn on his minions . . . in part because I happen to know some of the more annoying examples of Obama-worship and leftist groupthink. As painful as it may be, its a pleasure to see their smugness wiped off their faces.

The “ones weve been waiting for” are getting a tongue lashing by their hero. Can he do this to his adoring followers? Yes he can!! Yes he can!!

  11. Obama turning on his admiring followers and “whipping up base” has a distinct flavor: religious.
Looks to me very much like a weekly sermon given by a pastor to his congregation, message being: bad times are around – and you are to blame; you slacked your responsibilities, didn’t pray enough, didn’t live according to gospel (or whatever set of rules he represent as official religious Truth).

A sheppard yelling at his flock – and the flock will follow him with ever growing respect.

I think Obama base will now turn to a self-flagellation, public confessions and frantic show of “activism”, to earn his approval.

At least the core of his armies; and that’s whom he had addressed – not the people “on the fence”.

  12. Another tangent on the topic of “opinion journalism”, after catching up on some reading:
Ezra Levant and his take of G.Soros’ self-described collaboration with the Nazis when he was 14yo.

Levant basically repeated Soros’ own words in regards to facts, just presented them in less favorable light than – naturally – Soros himself (probably closer to reality of 1944 Budapest) – and his article gets yanked back, Soros’ lawyers descend on Sun like angels of death and threaten legal action. Not just that -the lawyers’ brigade issued numerous threatening letters to ALL BLOGGERS who dared to republish the article. I came across several examples of it while googling “Soros Nazi collaboration Ezra Levant article”.

Do we want to became Canada, with its “hate crime” laws? Or are we still free speech country where opinion journalism allowed to both sides of the divide?

  13. Obama is religious–at least in the faith and devotion with which he attends his true beliefs.

However, I don’t think his flock, even the true core, is of the type which will flagellate themselves.

With one exception: the more progressively educated the Obama follower, the more slavish. Yet even there, a good part of the slavishness is unctuous. A postmodern man lacks the soul to endure hardship.

Obama’s other true core, black people, are experiencing a conflict both generational and existential. Young blacks have not experienced the racism of Jim Crow; and all blacks must, like Velma Hart, be puzzled that the “Dream” fizzled. Such a result clarifies what the “Dream” has become: preferential treatment in a soft socialism, kind of like a new Jim Crow society.
