Remember Obamacare? — 5 Comments

  1. I received a call this morning from a staffer at my Congressman’s office on this very issue. He basically was in denial of all the charges we know are true about the costs and size of Obamacare. Rather than have a debate he applied a ‘ha ha’ condescension with me chuckling at my points and preaching the party line about how premiums would be affordable and happy insurance companies will be with ’30 million new customers’. But when I wasn’t buying his phony pitch, things got really ugly. lol

  2. “In Medicare, the results of the new law will be disastrous. ObamaCare will cut payments to the private insurance component of the program (called Medicare Advantage, or MA) by nearly $200 billion over ten years.” (From article)

$200 billion? That’s just chump change these days. Or does it put into perspective the $787 Porkulus bill. I hope so. I hope people are beginning to think, “What the hell we were thinking.”

  3. The subsequent neoneo piece about gay men and heterosexual women makes the point that there are specific differences in more than just sexual diseases when it comes to G&Ls — obesity, smoking, and heart disease are also higher among them, depending on sex.

Which, of course screws with actuarials… do you think, though, that it will be acceptable to charge a different rate based on sexual preference?

    Nawwwww…
