Important notice: if this blog ever goes down — 13 Comments

  1. Neo,

Great to know there’s a backup. However, you mis-spelled your backup site. You left out the ‘s’ in ‘blogspot’.

I set up a while back at http://backupneo.blogpot.com

    “Blogpot” suggests something else entirely.

I’m a lousy proofer, so I’m always surprised to catch something like this.

  2. So if your blog ever goes down, we will remember “I seem to recall she has a backup site. I wonder what it was called? Neobackup? Backupneoneo? Darn.”

Or we will bookmark it but forget you have a backup site we have bookmarked.

  3. This techie stuff, what with “blog might be down” and “here’s the backup” and “moving the Amazon links around,” it’s like we’re all the neighborhood kids, kind of Mickey Rooney and Judy Garland, and we’re all in this together, and we’re gonna put on a show down at Mr. Geezer’s barn, and, (breathlessly) and We’re Gonna Save Western Civilization! We can do it! And hey. . . we might.

    But then, I’m about half techie . . .

  4. It’s always SOMETHING. The first post I made that I really liked I sent an email about it to a bunch of friends. Then, just to make sure the newest gift to Western Civ didn’t get lost in the shuffle I went to the server site and started a data base backup.

Then I discovered that the web site doesn’t work while the data base is being backed up.

  5. neo,
One thing here your link to :

    Why the apple? See this.

broken may be nice if you correct the the broken link.

  6. Cap’n Rusty: No, I wouldn’t dare. A friend helps me. But this today was a server problem, apparently.

  7. You now have a special folder in my bookmarks called Backups devoted specially to you! I hope you feel flattered by this great honor.
