  1. From years as a Leftist, I thank God I preserved some spec of a soul [a conscious for a pursuit of truth] – Once you separate from the hate the truth becomes clearer and clearer.

  2. McLuhan’s bosh was bosh then and hasn’t aged very well since it is still rubbish and not revealed truth. The only people I knew who took it seriously also thought LSD was a sacrament.

  3. I like this place- I’ve never really had a place to come to to congregate specifically as ex-Leftists (in my case, a goddamn Trot). Nice to meet y’all, nyomythus, neo-neo.

  4. “Why Lieberman lost. Why the republican party is imploding. A policy that calls for a response that is far more costly than the threat is a losing policy. For soo many.”

“How many times must a man look up
Before he can see the sky?
How many ears must one man have
Before he can hear people cry?
How many deaths will it take till he knows,
That too many people have died?

    The answer, my friend,
    Is blowing in the wind,
The answer is blowing in the wind.”

  5. A Human Rights’ Watch report issued on Aug 3, entitled “Fatal Strikes — Israel’s Indiscriminate Strikes against Civilians in Lebanon,” documents “serious violations of international laws (the laws of war) by Israeli Defense Forces”:

“Israeli forces have been consistently launching artillery and air attacks with limited or dubious military gain but excessive civilian costs. In dozens of areas, Israeli forces struck an area with no apparent military target . . . something that suggests that Israeli forces deliberately targeted civilians.”

The report is online at the link below:

  6. Wow,

That was refreshing. It is indeed nice to know that there are people out there who disagree with the war, for example, and yet retain rational thought and intellectual honesty. Thanks Neo.

I would have to conclude that all things in nature ultimately balance themselves. In this case then, assuming the above statement is true, hizbullah supporters are getting their own Shatilla and Sabra. I’m trying to think of the philosopher who said nature balances itself faster with barbarians. Was that Plato? Nawww, maybe it was Philo. I doubt it was Aristotle. I sure hope IDF remembers to plug and contaminate all the wells in the course of their sterilization of everything south of the Litani. We should be carpet bombing the bekkah valley with napalm – I don’t understand why we aren’t directly helping our ally Israel. I’m rambling here, sorry, that’s what happens when I spend time trying to figure out why muslims are not celebrating the world over the martyrdom of hizbullah supporters, mistakenly called innocent civilians. Fighters and bombers are martyrs but not their supporters? I don’t think so. Surely to God they deserve their own Dresden and Hiroshima every bit as much as the Germans and Japanese did. Am I wrong here, Pete,Rabbit, Rock, Yahmir? Speak up, boys – given the course of events and the escalation of war, which side do you think is ultimately going to prevail – the West or the islamic fundamentalists? Come on boys, put the moral and political posturing aside for once and put some cold, hard cash on the table – be real men about it for once.
