Seattle: observations from the green city — 7 Comments

  1. My childhood on Mercer Island has been scraped away. All of it.

House density is up three to one.

Now, Mercer Island functions as the hip home for Microsoft management.

  2. There is a genuine temperate rain forest on the western side of the Olympic peninsula, due west of Seattle. It is called the Ho Rainforest and it is part of Olympic National Park.

  3. “if not by strict climactic definitions”

Perhaps you meant “climatic definitions”. 🙂

  4. Please don’t bring more out-of-staters to our state, thereby making our state less green (physically, I don’t care about politically).

It’s a nasty, mouldy, filthy place, always 37 degrees and raining. And don’t you forget it!!!

  5. Neo,

Welcome to the Pacific North-WET. Lots of fun stuff to see and do with, as you noted great restuarants, everything from “get a second mortgage on the house” to wonderful, neighborhood places run by Mom, Dad and the kids. My favorite of the latter is Santorini’s in the Lake City neighborhood. Enjoy your stay.
