  1. Pre-cook bacon (ham may be substituted; turkey ham is good if you have dietary restrictions regarding pork). Make a waffle. While waffle is cooking, cook egg (over medium, please.

    Put cooked waffle on plate. Put bacon atop waffle. Put egg over bacon. Pour maple syrup over all.

    Yummy.

    …prob’ly pretty close to the same thing taste wise, and “close enough” texture wise.

  2. I have nothing against something sweet with my bacon and eggs, but I prefer a degree of separation, as in toast with a bit of jam. Donuts are to be eaten alone.

    For donuts (cake only: I’m a purist snob about that), I’m a coffee guy, or – when I’m feeling particularly hedonistic in the late afternoon, during that transition time between the bean and vine, I’ve been known to dunk in a glass of Merlot.
