You can talk about the Republican Convention… — 16 Comments

  1. I wonder what the prog moonbats will say when God smites New Orleans instead of Tampa with all that Wrath of God stuff??

  2. If Isaac does hit New Orleans, I hope the refugees don’t all move to Houston this time. Crime rate went up and schools were badly overcrowded.

  3. Watching the news at noon today, the MSM has already started with “how dare those Republicans “party” when other folks are dealing with the tropical storm!”

  4. I am late coming into this late and am sorry for posting in this off topic, but I wanted you to see. (http://neoneocon.com/2012/08/25/anderson-cooper-actually-seems-annoyed-by-wasserman-schultzs-lies/), It has to do with Debbie Schulz Wasserman and her comment that it (a lie or misrepresentation of the facts) doesn’t matter. Well, it does matter. I am now living in Georgia, no, not in the USA but the birthplace of Stalin, in the former USSR. I work in the building where the NKVD (soviet secret police) had their headquarters in Tbilisi. Each morning when I drive into the courtyard where thousands were brought to their deaths, I look down the stairways into the basement cells where “enemies” of the state were dispatched to their deaths and sense the unspeakable horrors they experienced. It DOES matter; most of the deaths were based on lies, Debbie Schulz Wasserman is leading us down a similar path. When you insist that the truth does not matter, the door is opened to unimaginable evil.

  5. Is God really on our side?? 🙂 The timing of the storm could not be worse. Its parallels to Katrina make it even more fuel for the liberal fires It looks like it will hit NO just about the time Romney et al should be getting their maximum exposure through the big speech events.

Three guesses as to what the MSM will cover: Isaac or RNC convention /sarc off.

  6. Isaac will give Obama the cover he needs to open the spigot on the Petroleum Reserve. That may not bring prices down but will keep them from climbing dramatically.

  7. Focusing on NO is focusing on a failed city that pre-Katrina (and still) wallowed in violent crime and corruption that rivals the political corruption of Chicago and Detroit. Today NO, despite billions of aid, aside from the French Quarter, is just another 3rd world cesspool.

I can guarantee you that only bleeding heart, goody two shoe liberals on the coasts give a damn about New Orleans. If you are one of the millions of the unemployed do you really care about the fate of NO? I think not. Instead, you want to see a better tomorrow.

  8. Xylourgos, your experience speaks volumes. Distorting the truth to fit the narrative and to benefit the party is exactly what all communist (statist) regimes do. They demonize their opponents. They use the power of the state to suppress dissent. They will kill to maintain power. The lying is just the first stage. That is what we have with the democrats and the media now.

  9. Two things we can be sure of. Hurricanes will forever wipe out gulf coast communities and republicans will forever have consultants warning them about displaying too much common sense.

  10. I am counting on “y’all” to fill me in. I am caretaking at a post-op Democrat friend’s house. I don’t dare tune into the convention on TV. Last night I had to overhear Bill Maher. I did not know he was as disgusting as he is. He said that he really liked it that women want to be in Monica Lewinsky’s position with this president: he actually said he thinks it’s “cool” that women want to “do” the President. Even my friend was taken aback and said “That is pretty gross.”

  11. M,

Take a look at the latest Quinnipiac poll for voters in connecticut. Obama has a large favorable rating by women, where he is evenly split with men. Remember that this is a very blue state. I was immediately reminded of 4 years ago when a former student of mine declared quite openly she was sexually attracted to Obama. There seems to be a sexual magnetism that he seems to project to some women.

  12. physicsguy: Look at my latest post. You will see that only unmarried women favor Obama; married women do not.

Perhaps the sexual attraction thing is part of it, although I’m not sure why unmarried women would be more attracted than married ones. After all, it’s not as though any of them are going to act on it (for one thing, I don’t think Obama would cooperate), although I suppose the fantasy could be more actively believable for unmarried women.
