The death of Roseanne Boyland at the Capitol on January 6th: not what had been previously reported — 35 Comments

  1. With the media, it is lies all the way down. You can’t trust anything they report any longer. For some reason, it takes the truth weeks and months to surface long after the media has lied and lied and lied.

  2. What they don’t say is always the best place to start. It’s true with crime it’s true with COVID it is almost always true.

  3. Typo: Twice typed “Ashi.” Should have been “Ashli.”

A small thing I know, and it might be petty of me to point it out, but she’s dead, so maybe it matters more than the typical typo.

  4. Don’t mention race of suspect then it’s a minority don’t mention rising COVID deaths then they must not be rising don’t mention hospitals they must not be stressed.

  5. Let’s see how the evening news plays this out?

I’m going to guess NO mention of the deaths being natural causes with exception of Ashi Babbitt which now is being called homicide.

In fact I’m going to guess NO mention of the findings at all.

  6. jack, I doubt they’ll bother, since they’ve already convinced their audiences that Officer Sicknick was bludgeoned to death by a rioter. Probably most progressives have never heard otherwise.

  7. We are living in a neo-USSR, where we are told only what the Politburo thinks we are allowed to know. Who killed Babbitt? What killed Sicknick? Nah, you don’t need to know.

I saw a video Jan 7 that showed Babbitt standing close to an interior wall of the Capitol when she was felled by a single gunshot by a cop on the other side of a closed, half-glass door, but we keep reading she was shot while trying to climb into the building thru a window.

It is ironic Boyland is said to have died of “acute” amphetamine overdose, since she had wanted to be a “sobriety counselor”. But a load of amphetamines usually causes death by cerebral hemorrhage due to the induced severe increase in blood pressure and consequent intracranial arterial rupture.. There is more to it than dying of an OD; there is the consequence of overdosing. It is the cerebral bleed which is the proximate cause of death.

Opiates shut down the respiratory center in the brain stem; breathing is involuntary, after all. So the cause there is respiratory arrest…due to opioid X. See St. George Floyd.

  8. Today msn states Babbitt was shot “while attempting to climb through a barricaded door.” Climb through a door? Yup.

  9. I agree with Yancey above — assume 100% b.s. as the default setting and then let the truth work its way out over time. I made this determination 5+ years ago and it has served me quite well.

The media does not even deserve a “trust but verify” stance because they have squandered all credibility. It’s all about clicks and eyeballs for advertisers, and they use every trick in the book to drive that revenue. They have not cared about facts or context, and have not for a long time. It’s lies all day long, every day.

    Whatevs. You do you, media.

  10. Ashli Babbitt was in the process of climbing through a large (empty) window frame in a door when she was shot. I’m not saying that she should have been shot, but let’s be careful to acknowledge all the facts that we can. She was the first person to actually start to go through a locked door into an area that Capitol personnel were trying to keep clear of protesters.

  11. I’m glad you posted this new info about Roseanne’s death, Neo. It really bothered me to think that peaceful protesters had turned into a mob that then accidentally trampled someone to death. Getting trampled is always a risk in a mob situation but it still nagged at me that any typical Trump-rally type of crowd would actually get that out of control.

Now, we have zero people that we know of who were definitely killed (or even seriously injured) by the actions of the protesters themselves. It’s incredibly chilling that the public STILL doesn’t know what caused Officer Sicknick’s death. I don’t ever recall this kind of information being withheld in the past.

  12. Babbitt could have been settled with a slap upside the head. There were other people in the room on the side of the door, including cops, who could have been hurt.

  13. For many weeks we were told Ashli Babbitt was shot in the neck. Then suddenly we learned that she was shot in the chest. I’m not sure if that bit of information was official or not.

I’m not the first to mention this but, does it bother anyone else that 4 out of the 5 people that died in this “riot” died without being the victim of any direct violent assault? The number of people involved was large. Many were older people. The event was stressful. But an unexplained stroke, two heart attacks, and a drug overdose; all in a short period of time? (Excluding Sicknick.)

  14. There is a lot we don’t know about the termination of Ashli Babbit RIP, and that is the way they want it IMO. Will the gunman be charged, what was his state of mind, what was the actual threat to the Capitol Police and the congress critters and staff at the time? Facts are stubborn things, when known.

TommyJay, and for three months it has been the “deadly riot” and “insurrection” at the Capitol. Reichstag indeed.

  15. om, I saw Candice Owens has begun to call it a “Reichstag fire” in the media.

  16. TommyJay:

neo and many others here have noticed this as well. Good that Candace Owens is giving the term some visibility as well.

  17. Ashli Babbitt was in the process of climbing through a large (empty) window frame in a door when she was shot.

She wasn’t. She was just standing there.

  18. I saw the Ashli Babbit video multiple times. She dropped like she had been shot in the neck and her spinal cord severed. I have seen hundreds of gunshots and ran a trauma center for years. She was surrounded by other cops and was no threat to the shooter. I have also seen some information about the shooter, unconfirmed of course, that he is a black Brazilian immigrant with a record of Trump hate on social media.

  19. Ashli Babbitt was in the process of climbing through a large (empty) window frame in a door when she was shot.

She wasn’t. She was just standing there.”

I’m sorry but I just can’t agree with this. I’ve seen several videos, from different angles. She was hoisting herself up into the window frame at the time that she was shot.
Please know that I am NOT justifying the shooting. I’m just trying to state what facts we do know as clearly as possible.

Speaking of facts we do and do not know, it’s also chilling that we don’t know one thing about the shooter and there has been no report released to the public about the shooting itself.

I’m not paranoid, but if Ashli had been an Antifa-type shot while doing the exact same thing in a Left-inspired mob action, we would know everything about the shooter; rumors would abound and be taken as fact, the streets would be on fire, and there would be no such thing as the government being able to keep a 100% lid on the story.

  20. Art+Deco:
    You saw what I saw.
I do not know what videos RigelDog has seen, but there is a profound physical difference between climbing into a window versus just standing there.

What is bizarre about this is two different videos, shown here:
    https://nypost.com/2021/01/07/videos-show-shooting-of-ashli-babbitt-during-capitol-siege/
The first shows both her standing erect, though not well seen, AND shows the shooter, both inside the Capitol. The 2nd shows her being shot while climbing up through a windowed door, again inside the Capitol.
I do not know how to reconcile these different views. A level bullet path in the first versus an ascending bullet path in the 2nd. And no one in responsible office seems to care.

  21. She was hoisting herself up into the window frame at the time that she was shot.
Please know that I am NOT justifying the shooting.

Yes, that is my impression from the video. She was not through the window and was surrounded by other cops.

  22. I watched the videos in the days following the demonstration. My recollection is that Ashli was indeed hoisting herself up onto a window frame, that she was not killed immediately (she had time to say something like “it’s ok”) and that she was indeed surrounded by police and hence not a particularly singular threat. My thought at the time was that the shooter was probably very undisciplined, which might explain why his identity has never been made public. I suspect we’ll never know his (or her) identity. My question is, how can law enforcement get away with that?

  23. They tell the lies on the front page and at the top of the newscast. If they tell the truth it is quite a while later and buried somewhere. Many people, including people of good will that care about the truth, do not have time to chase it down, and so the lie lives on.

  24. She was hoisting herself up into the window frame at the time that she was shot.

    In your imagination only.

  25. My thought at the time was that the shooter was probably very undisciplined, which might explain why his identity has never been made public.

He wasn’t. He was quite deliberate.

  26. I find it ironic that after the Capitol police like the people in they then were so stressed that they shot a woman. See what happens to you if you fire a gun inside a crowded room.

  27. Interesting that we have already had a trial of a supposed co-conspirator, yet we are still learning facts months later that contradict all information provided at trial.

  28. I suspect we’ll never know his (or her) identity. My question is, how can law enforcement get away with that?

Her family has filed suit. Unless there is a settlement, we should learn who the shooter is.

  29. Why is nobody asking President Biden who shot Ashli, and why has his identity been kept secret? If we had an actual press with actual reporters, that question would dog the President until it was answered. If we had an actual President!

  30. }}} It’s all about clicks and eyeballs for advertisers, and they use every trick in the book to drive that revenue.

Nope. They don’t give a rat’s ass if they’re losing money, as long as they push the agenda. That’s the surprising aspect of this crap.

Fox has been kicking the ass of CNN and MSBSN for a decade, but CNN and MSBSN have continued to produce crap and ignored where the market is.

  31. Yet another one, like Ashli Babbitt and Eric Ciaramella with no Wikipedia page.

Over 10 years ago my daughter was bored in a math class, edited a page to make a friend the 7th most popular singer in Moldova.

So how come he gets a mention, but they become invisible people?
