Open thread 7/9/22 — 22 Comments

  1. (Sorry, posted a version of this a few threads below, but it’s buried, and I’ve deemed it so important that I’ve reposted a modified version here, where it will hopefully get a lot more attention.)

Here is an extremely important video report, an overview from Tucker Carlson of evidence for the Wuhan lab origin of Covid, the coverup of this fact, some of the people involved in that coverup, and the Biden Administration/Federal government’s refusal to pressure China to reveal what was going on at the Lab in Wuhan, or to conduct a real investigation to find where Covid came from.

See the clip of when he was asked about this, and Biden just smiles and walks away.

Plus, at the end of the video Carlson points out that the Wuhan lab is now working on Monkeypox.

    Gee, what a coinkeydink.

  2. Snow,

I watched that last night. Between that topic and the selling of our strategic reserve oil to China via Hunter’s investment company, Biden should be impeached, and Hunter thrown in jail; but we all know none of that will EVER happen. The US is being run by a crime family that is totally on board with all Marxist efforts, just as long as they get rich. What a disaster.

And the GOP is pretty much OK with all of this.

  3. I was lucky enough to win tickets to see Goodman back in the early 80s. I had never heard of the guy but it was one of the best performances I’ve ever seen.

  4. physicsguy–

What Gerard said yesterday: “All the wrong people are getting shot.”

  5. I heard a comment about a farmer uprising of sorts in the Netherlands and was curious. They said the government was strong arming the farmers in some fashion over nitrogen pollution.

Nitrogen? I quick scanned an article that claimed that the balance of livestock to crops had shifted to a preponderance of livestock in the Netherlands and that there is a growing accumulation of ammonia from animal waste. No clue as to the truth or impact of that.

  6. Similar experience to Dwaz. College roomie coundn’t get a date to see Steve and took me. 1977 I think. All I knew was he’d written that famous song. Was absolute magic. I’m a Cub fan to boot.

  7. Hungary came up in the exchange on Soros the other day.

“Biden” has joined forces with the EU.
    The knives have come out.
“US Retaliates Against Hungary For Obstructing 15% Global Minimum Tax”—
    https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/us-retaliates-against-hungary-obstructing-15-global-minimum-tax

    Key graf:
“…Make no mistake: What Biden, Yellen and the EU are seeking to impose is nothing less than an enormous price-fixing scheme that buffers governments around the world from healthy competitive pressures, to the detriment of productive people everywhere. “

  8. For those trying to figure out BoJo and the Brits, Powerline’s week in pictures has a good laugh for you. It is the first picture, so you don’t have to go through the whole thing.

  9. Cant underbid the House , the world controllers are off the same mind.

  10. Are we approaching the end of hyperbole, or have we arrived? Exaggeration has been exceeded by reality. For the moment at least, hyperbole is a thing of the past. Further, the novelty of an illegitimate administration filled with deviants and deviant enablers has worn off.

  11. Another open-thread comment that has nothing to do with folk singers.

At her substack, “Common Sense,” Bari Weis has posted a transcript of her first talk to students at The University of Austin. For most people who read Neo’s blog, it’ll be preaching to the choir. Still, it’s worth reading it for the good news that, in at least one place, students are being taught something worth learning.

    Here’s a link: https://www.commonsense.news/p/the-new-founders-america-needs

    And here’s a sample:

“What has become obvious to anyone paying attention is that we are living through a kind of revolution.

It is not a physical one. As my friend Abe Greenwald wrote in Commentary Magazine, it ‘is not being fought within the physical limits of a battlefield. It is instead happening all around us and directly to us. It is redefining our culture, our media, and giving new shape to our public and private institutions. It is remaking the nation before our eyes.’

In other words, this is a revolution of culture. A revolution of ideas.
For far too long, it resisted description. The revolution’s proponents went from pretending it didn’t exist and insisting that those who suggested it did were wearing tinfoil hats . . . to declaring it was here, and it was excellent, and that if you didn’t get on board you were a bigot and a bad person.”

  12. @ Cornflour > “Bari Weis has posted a transcript of her first talk to students at The University of Austin.”

    Thanks for posting that link.
The entire talk is a Must Read for her survey of the breadth and depth of the challenge from our present culture, dominated by the ideological tyrants, and her recommendations of how to found a better one.

  13. This one’s for Snow…(though I suppose it’s likely to have been already noticed):

    “Building Blocks Of Life Found Floating In Milky Way In Discovery That Suggests We Are Not Alone;
“The find increases the chances that life could have evolved on other planets across the galaxy”—
    https://blazingcatfur.ca/2022/07/11/building-blocks-of-life-found-floating-in-milky-way-in-discovery-that-suggests-we-are-not-alone/
    Opening grafs:
‘The building blocks of life have been found floating near the centre of the Milky Way in a discovery that raises the chance that life could have evolved on other planets in the galaxy.
‘Organic molecules, known as nitriles, are abundant in interstellar clouds…supporting the theory that similar life-sparking particles hitchhiked a ride to Earth.
‘The theory is known as the “RNA World” theory…proposes that the ingredients for life arrived on meteorites and comets during a period of heavy bombardment roughly four billion years ago….’

I don’t know. Maybe it’s reassuring to conceive that similar political garbage may be occurring in other places in the universe….
