Anti-Israel farce in the International Court of Justice — 19 Comments

  1. We should not forget UN peacekeeping troops have come under criticism several times for engaging in numerous sex crimes. International organizations are filled with examples of contradictions in definitions. The International court of Justice doesn’t deal in justice, it metes out injustice. UN peacekeeping troops are accused routinely of sex trafficking and violence against civilians. The UN Human Rights Organization is filled with some of the greatest violators of human rights in the world. UNRWA has schools all over Gaza that teach violence against Israel and their food and energy distribution has been taken over by Hamas and used to blackmail the civilian population. The whole world of international organizations seems like a study in contradictions. I am sympathetic with people who call for pulling the US out of the UN and kicking the UN out of New York.

  2. now this happening under the so called respectable prime minister ramaposa, as opposed to zuma who was kind of a crook, well they were all in mandela’s umkhonto du sizwe, the militant arm of the ANC, they have some long standing Russian ties going back to the Soviet era, I’m guessing the Chinese have some part in the matter,

it’s not because the USSR was really interested in racial justice, they wanted the resources of the future Azania, gold uranium, palladium

  3. Once more the UN demonstrates its foul corruption and unfitness to exist. It has become a focus of evil in this world.

  4. Neo: right! Another example, BTW, of the Soviets having worked behind the scenes to kidnap an institution and bend it toward their own aims.

  5. F:

The Soviets may be gone, but the Left marches on. The seeds the Soviets planted have borne fruit. I used to think people who looked at it that way were paranoid. I no longer think so.

  6. F and others have mentioned UNRWA, but not until today did I look it up.

OMG, it’s an entire UN agency devoted, not to children, not to education but to Palestinian refugees! Clever how they clip the Palestinians out of the acronym.

They could switch Relief and Works around, then leave off the Refugees and it would be:

UNWRAP, the gift that keeps on giving!

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East[a] (UNRWA) is a UN agency that supports the relief and human development of Palestinian refugees. UNRWA’s mandate encompasses Palestinians displaced by the 1948 Palestine War and subsequent conflicts, as well as their descendants,[3][4] including legally adopted children.[5] As of 2019, more than 5.6 million Palestinians are registered with UNRWA as refugees.[6]

I’m not entirely naïve, but this surprised me.

    Welcome to the party, pal!

  7. oh yes they run propaganda and education and other projects, so they are very reliable sarc,

  8. huxley:

The Palestinians are treated differently than any other refugees in the world. They are VERY special. An entire huge agency devoted to only them. Tons of money and services. And a special definition of the word “refugee.”

  9. “reward terrorism and advance” Jew-hatred….

    He nailed it.
UN’s been doing that for decades.
Demolish the building. Throw them out of the USA and build the Trump Presidential Museum over the ruins.

  10. To Neo and huxley.
Your characterization of UNWRA is incomplete.

The UNs longest mission is border security between Cyprus and the unrecognized Turkish Republic of North Cyprus, which runs through this islands biggest city, nearly on million there alone.

This is the result of a civil war circa, 1973, and politically parallels Putin’s war in Ukraine. Even if provoked, the bloodshed was initiated by Turkey.

And what does Gaza have in common with Cyprus? Only one guess, but it’s the same religion!

  11. The view that the Cold War ended when the Berlin Wall fell, isn’t holding up. As Neo points out the seeds planted by the Soviets are still being nurtured by worldwide Marxism.

You see it, if you look hard enough.
It’s in the UN and its various agencies, It’s in many countries – Venezuela, Cuba, Russia, China, Zimbabwe, probably South Africa, and more. It’s become well entrenched in our society – academia, the MSM, the tech industry, the Democrat Party, etc.

The slogans and ideas are inevitably anti Judeo-Christian, democratic, and free enterprise values.

It’s all about an all-powerful central government that runs everyone’s lives. They call it Marxism, or Communism, or Socialism, or National Socialism or something else, but it’s all about centralized state control – tyranny.

They sell it as equity and social justice, but it’s actually quite Medieval in its form. The Nobles (Those who comprise the state ruling class) and the serfs. (Everyone else.)

  12. “…1973…”
    (’74, actually.)

    RE UNRWA, from Wikipedia:
“…UNRWA was established in 1949 by the UN General Assembly (UNGA) to provide relief to all refugees resulting from the 1948 conflict. It also provided relief to Jewish and Arab Palestine refugees inside the State of Israel following the 1948 conflict until the Israeli government took over responsibility for them in 1952.[7][8][9] As a subsidiary body of the UNGA, UNRWA’s mandate is subject to periodic renewal every three years; it has consistently been extended since its founding, most recently until 30 June 2026.[10]….”

  13. Phyllis Chesler is trying her best.
(Always gracious, she’s trying hard not to say “I told ya’ so”…)

    “We underestimated the hatred and it is blowing up in our faces;
Jews and Israelis underestimated the profound effect that the anti-Jewish narrative, coupled with a half-century of funding intersectionality, critical race and ANTI-ISRAEL theories, etc. would have on the coming generations.”—
    https://www.israelnationalnews.com/news/383479

She might have said “…of us funding—AND US SUPPORTING THE POLITICAL PARTY THAT SUPPORTS—…”

  14. ArmyMom:

I noticed it from the start and it doesn’t surprise me overly. Greenwald is one of those “when he’s right he’s really right and when he’s wrong he’s really wrong ” people. He’s always been a leftist libertarian. In the case of Israel, his leftism takes over.
