Hillary was protected from investigation by the same agencies who hounded Trump on false charges…

Andrew C. McCarthy writes:

…[There were] many ways the FBI went easy on [Hillary] Clinton, as Durham reveals the agency dropped at least four criminal investigations related to her.

The Clinton Foundation was understandably suspected by FBI agents in three different field offices — Little Rock, Washington, and New York — as a dodgy vehicle enabling donors, very much including foreign regimes and their operatives, to give goo-gobs of money to Hillary and Bill Clinton without appearing to violate the campaign finance laws.

But McCabe was infuriated, during the stretch run of the 2016 campaign, when the Wall Street Journal reported that he had tied the hands of investigators on the Clinton Foundation case…

To push back against that, McCabe had his subordinates leak that the Obama Justice Department had pressured him to shutter the Clinton Foundation probe.

This was true. In fact, it is substantiated by Durham. He found that the bureau had meetings with top Obama DOJ officials who were hostile to the investigation…

The Obama DOJ, including its appointed U.S. attorneys in Manhattan and Brooklyn, made clear to the FBI that they had no interest in a Clinton Foundation case…

This was a pattern. As Durham found, even when there may have been evidence that foreign powers were trying to cultivate Clinton and possibly try to bring her under their influence, the same FBI that couldn’t open a case on Trump fast enough became paralyzed.

As McCarthy says, it was “quite a contrast.”

And although we already knew this, at least the general outline and patterns, the details are interesting.

The question is, as usual: what to do? It’s all very well and good to say “Defund the FBI! Clear out the DOJ!” and that sort of thing. But it can’t be done without gaining political power and numbers. And does anyone think those numbers will be attained in 2024? I certainly don’t.

It is probably true that nothing can be done and that all hope is lost, but at least Vivek R (probably the most intelligent person to run for the presidency in many a decade) is articulating sensible policies which will perhaps convince some voters of the dire predicament presently plaguing our moribund republic.

  3. I used to think that Hillary was the most corrupt person to get that close to the presidency since Aaron Burr. Biden has outdone her.

    I’ve begun reading Bill Quick’s novel, “Lightning Fall.” I sense disaster coming soon. We’ve been discussing 40 year cycles in history ovr at Chicagoboyz. I think we are near the end of one.

  4. I too sense disaster. We are sharing the American land with millions of migrants and 50%+ of Democratic voters, who are ignorant, stupid, or evil. Or some combination thereof. They have never read the Constitution, none of them.
    Maybe a move to Honduras is not irrational. The country has been cleaned out of its lower classes, who are now all here.

    If I were 20 years younger, I would consider Honduras or Costa Rica. I think I’ll have to just wait it out where I am now, and hope that I don’t last long enough to see the worst of it. Terrible way to look at longevity and life in general, but there it is.

  7. So which is the more frightening/loathsome person: the apparatchik who knows what happened and is OK with it or the true believer who believes whatever spin the party line needs today? In “1984”, it was the inner party which were the true believers but in today’s world, it’s the outer party.

    IF our ‘news’ media were not so unanimously corrupted by its slavish progressive groupthink, it could, in just a few months of honest reporting, put an end to some fraction of said groupthink, even in the Federal government and some bits of the Universities, and of course more widely among all those millions of Biden voters. It’s surprising that more upstart Republicans are not singing from this hymnal, chapter and verse – right now brer Durham has dug up enough evidence to attract attention no matter how loudly the faithful still wail the Big Nothingburger Blues.

    The interview of James Comey from about 6 years ago where he openly brags about sending agents to trick Trump’s administration is still fresh in my mind. And Peter Strzok’s assurances to his paramour.

    Indeed, the gobsmacking thing is the WHY? of it!!
    What’s in it for them?
    Could it be PURE VENALITY? Since it would appear to be that with this action to help the Democratic Party wreck America, it would appear that the FBI, along with other agencies, have egregiously veered into “We have to destroy the country to save the country” territory.
    (Um, make that “We have to destroy the country to save the country—and if we can also make a few bucks on the side, well why the hell not? We’re heroes, AREN’T WE?” territory.)

    And this—cliche-ridden as it is—may well be true.
    But might there be more to the story?
    That is, could there be any other cause, or rationale, that’s entirely warped, twisted, bent, corrupted and derailed those tasked with protecting the country and upholding the Constitution?

    The only conclusion—or rationalization—that I can come up with is that they are so convinced—besotted?—with the idea that a Trump presidency will bring about WAR with China (a way of thinking, by the way, that the CPC has gone out of its way to encourage and promote) that anything that can be done to reduce or eliminate the chances of such a war is heroic, courageous, the cutting edge of moral, and hence entirely justified…even if one has to wreck the country to accomplish this(!!!!).

    Make that “GROTESQUE rationalization”…since this is most certainly NOT an attempt at “to understand is to forgive”….

    Given her stellar personality, it is no wonder that Ms. “What Difference Does It Make?” turned that situation right around and decided to exploit the same accusation against Trump.
    And with all the help she had—and which she knew she had—she got away with it. As did the entire Democratic Party and its apparatchiks, sewn into the woof and warp of the Deep State and the Media.

    Nonetheless, she STILL lost the 2016 election. (This because she KNEW she was a shoo-in—had she known how dire her situation REALLY WAS, she would have taken the necessary steps to win. Needless to say, the Democrats, in 2020, did NOT repeat that BLUNDER.)

    Having lost the 2016 election—the first incarnation of her plan having failed—she and her fellow uber-powerful conspirators set in motion phase two of the plan: the multi-layered hog-tying of Trump and his presidency.
    That Trump was in fact able to accomplish so much in spite of this Deep State- and media-sponsored subversion and sabotage is absolutely extraordinary….
    In fact, he was ALSO able to overcome the additional mega-subversion thrown at him by the CDC/NIH/WHO/Fauci-driven syndicate; and could only be “defeated” in 2020 when the Democrats, amply prepared this time around, were forced to UNLEASH their REAL—HEAVILY FORTIFIED—INSURANCE POLICY…to hijack the country and transform it, which transformation, alas for them, had to be DELAYED by four years.

    Yes they are worth 100 million, each gets $500000 for a 4 hour speech and greet
    However, considering their wealth, they live rather modestly. They own zero private jets or super yachts. The own 2 houses. One in NY they bought for 1.5 million and a 2nd in DC that they paid 4.5 million for.
    Likewise the Joe Biden.
    Has has lived in DELAWARE all his life. He bought a summer house for 1.5 million he vacations on NANTUCKET, but can only rent in the off season. ?????? Show me the money!!!

    Shame those who vote to support it. Do not give them any excuses. They support totalitarian, Big Brother-style abuse of the law and the systematic destruction of the constitutional republic. They don’t get a pass for believing the extensive and blatant lying of the MSM. At this point, the evidence is overwhelming. No person of good faith with any kind of conscience can pretend to think that the Democrats are good guys.

    Could you remain friends with a communist who supported all the crimes of communist despots? or a Nazi or fascist who supported those regimes?

    We aren’t talking about normal political differences. This isn’t an argument about politics. This isn’t an argument about tax rates or welfare policy or the number of weeks for unemployment compensation or the budget for defense. This is about a corrupt cabal of criminals who lie and slander relentlessly while abusing the law and the constitution. Difference.

    We face an existential struggle against Big Brother and the Thought Police. Get in the faces of anyone who supports the bad guys. Even if it makes Thanksgiving uncomfortable. Even if it costs a friendship.

    History will not judge kindly those who defend their inaction in the face of evil with the excuse that they didn’t want anyone to be uncomfortable. Political prisoners in DC right now are a bit uncomfortable.

    Shame those who support the bad guys.

    No at Least (Bill) Clinton and Obama seem driven by two things, Fame and Power. They both have severe daddy issues. Heck I think you have to go back to Truman to find a Democrat president who didn’t have at least SOME daddy issues. Nope I retract that after looking. Carter seems to have had a present and decent dad although he was a bit of a Mommas boy and seems to have been pushed by Lillian. Clearly Mr. Clinton and Obama want the fame to say ‘Look dad I was good why did you leave?”. Mrs Clinton is far more terrifying she seems to want power and control for its own sake like the Inner Party in 1984. As bad as Obama was I think we missed a bullet there in 2008 and again with Trump in 2016. Meanwhile Biden seems just a puppet, He’s Obama term three (or at least the handlers are). Not clear if the craziness is what Obama wanted or if Bidens handlers just are even more out of touch with the general populace than Obama was or if they just don’t have Biden well restrained.

    My primary way to fight is money. Find people who fight and support them with money. Any contribution, no matter how small, is better than not fighting. Small money is particularly important in local and state races.

We had the long-ago Whitewater deal and the straddle trades in Hillary’s favor from (I think) the Tyson chicken guy, and their “charity” was designed to pull in big money and make it look sort of legal.   35. The Clinton Foundation is primarily a money laundering operation. Bill knew the players, and Hillary was a Senator and then Secretary of State where she could direct influence and money. The Uranium One deal was a sellout of this country for big bucks to the foundation.
