The Durham Report: in the eye of the beholder — 24 Comments

  1. Democrat voters are happy to support the corruption and rampant abuse of power. They celebrate it.

The ones who aren’t brain dead know that violence is the inevitable result. They seem pleased at the idea.

  2. By the way, Garland just thumbed his nose at Congress and the law by removing whistleblowers investigating Hunter.

Big Brother is here. Democrat voters cheer in celebration.

  3. stan:

The Democrat voters I know – and I know tons of them – absolutely believe that the corruption and rampant abuse of power is on the right and not the left. They are not brain dead, either. They simply read the MSM, believe it, and are surrounded by others who agree with them.

  4. Regarding neo’s 4:12pm comment,

In my experience I’d also add most the Democrat voters I know believe the MSM is in the tank for Republicans and the wealthy media owners vote Republican. I have sat through some fascinating flights of fancy regarding the rightwing media bias of ABC, NBC and CBS.

  5. They celebrate blatant and obvious lies, slanders, criminality and abuses of power. BLATANT and OBVIOUS.

You may conclude whatever you wish about your friends. They believe dozens of lies and vile slanders knowingly and enthusiastically. They applaud censorship. They cheer for Big Brother and the Thought Police. Their cheer for BLM/Antifa riots. They support defunding the police. They enjoy their racist beliefs about blacks being too stupid to get IDs. They are eager to label parents bigots for expressing concern when their little girls have to shower with boys.

They proudly support child mutilation. They support the open border, sex trafficking and the Democrats’ assistance in forcing children to perform slave labor. They support abortion after live births of full term babies. They support grooming children by pedophiles.

The content of their character is plain to see.

  6. Rufus, thank you. Clearly, they are insane. They have beliefs that have absolutely no foundation in reality. They aren’t worthy of respect.

  7. stan:

Most rank-and-file Democrat voters are not as you describe. It’s not what I think; it’s what I know. I speak with them and I was once one of them, and I know whereof I speak.

Many of the leaders are as you describe, as are some of the voters who really are leftists. But most Democrats are not leftists.

The lies may be obvious to YOU, and you may think they should be obvious to everyone, but I don’t think you understand human nature.

The right is not immune to lying and believing lies, either. It’s just that there aren’t as many lies told by the leaders on the right or the media on the right. But there are some, and the rank-and-file on the right is also susceptible to being fooled.

It does no good to not recognize this and merely demonize all the Democrat voters. It is simplistic, reductionist, and incorrect.

  8. The problem is the successful wall-to-wall demonization campaign that the Democrats have been waging.
Once you’ve successfully demonized your opponent, none of what you eloquently wrote in your final paragraph will be deemed necessary by the party in power and those who, entirely swayed, convinced and persuaded by the unceasing propaganda campaign being waged, support that party.

To be sure, “Biden” is not the first to find demonizing “his” opponents a hugely advantageous and fruitful policy that may well cement total power for the Democratic Party.
(Someone should tell “him” though, that it comes at a price…usually a very steep one.)

  9. I have to agree with Neo on this one. My wife is a retired teacher, and although she is a conservative, most of her teacher friends are liberals. They are not bad people, and for the most part are pretty smart. They just get their news mostly from the MSM and like most of us, succumb to confirmation bias. They tend to search for and remember information in a way that supports their already held beliefs. My wife is not afraid to argue the conservative point of view when politics comes up in conversation. Usually their reaction is to change the subject and avoid talking politics while my wife is around.

  10. There may be some hope, however, in that the Democrats, as they feel more and more threatened, respond—retaliate?—by doing things that are increasingly obviously lawless.
    Clearly criminal.
    Unequivocally deranged.
    No matter how they’re spun.
So that things, increasingly uncontrollable, may well spin out of control.
So that even those most sympathetic to the Democratic Party will be forced to sit up and take notice.
    Think Sorceror’s Apprentice.
(Um, did I say “hope”? May have to think that one over a bit more..)

  11. It has become abundantly clear that the US justice system operates as a two-tiered justice system.

  12. I’d like to ask neo if, among her friends on the lib side, she knows of one or two who, seeing the dems/deep state doing something egregiously wrong which benefited them, admitted it was wrong and made the parties involved look bad and might even moderate said friend’s view of same.
Some time back, discussing the massacre at Waco, one very nice Church Lady said, fiercely, “They were a cult!”.
In my experience, it’s been deflect, rationalize–see “cult”–or lie.

  13. I, too, have a number of such D friends. I agree with everything Neo, Rufus, and Chris B have said. However, I will add that just below the surface is a white hot hatred of ‘you’; meaning anyone with a conservative opinion. The hatred will unleash itself at the provocation of an opinion that sounds the least bit conservative. Driving this is their very high opinion of themselves vis-a-vis ‘you’.

I’m beginning to think we should return in kind.

  14. Much as it sounds condemnatory–is that a word?–of people, I think there’s a pattern:
The dems/deep state do something bad to someone who, up to this point has not been known widely, or not been known to be any kind of threat to anybody.
The victims are then, automatically, bad. That’s all it takes; be a victim of the dems/deep state.
    It’s past discussing facts…”They were a cult!”

  15. If justice cannot be served, then injustice reigns and that inevitably and inescapably leads to rebellion and revolution.

Some on the left want that, seeing it as a pathway to power. They care not how many innocent lives are destroyed.

But their machinations would bear little fruit if those who enable them by voting for those who implement policies that both undermine essential liberties and eviscerate the rule of law did not turn a blind eye to the results of those policies.

  16. Clearly, anyone who reads, understands, and acts on the Durham report is a White Supremacist, a Domestic Terrorist. Clearly.

Joe Biden’s rhetoric may seem like inane wolf-crying, but it does in fact give cover to his true believers to ignore the report.

  17. Extraordinary interview with Musk, wherein the man who is pushing hard to save the USA says some very candid and controversial things (as is his wont, not all of which everyone has to agree with)…while an CNBC reporter, in outraged response, outs herself by saying she can’t understand why Musk refuses to compromise himself—refuses to censor his own opinions!—WRT advertisers and their desires and DEMANDS.
    Just CANNOT understand it…
    Simply incomprehensible…
    Unfathomable…
    Totally nuts…
    Immoral…
    Indecent…
    GROSSLY IMMATURE!!!!!!

(Hmmm, guess not everyone can be as MATURE an individual as her… Give ‘er a PULITZER, I say!!)

File under: A new Right that must be added to the Bill of RIGHTS IMMEDIATELY: The RIGHT to be outraged…by people one disagrees with! Or doesn’t understand…And EXPRESS said outrage to the full!!

  18. Brain washed due to huge propaganda by the majority of our news and entertainment.

And if you speak or act out, you risk being ostracized and even losing your job. Or even physically attacked. Remember Nick Sandmann, or the Trump rally attendees in San Jose.

And voter fraud is allowed so the correct people win.

And they wonder why Trump has so many supporters, many silent.

  19. It’s regrettable that there was no practical way for the country to separate into one blue nation and one red nation. Down the tubes we go!

  20. Steve McIntyre’s Twitter storm against Durham’s report is brilliant and devastating.

He lists numerous examples of investigation not done, from people not subpoenaed to obvious connections not made to method’s the Mueller team used and Durham ignored to prosecutions never pursued, this is an important powerful indictment.

He cites and quotes sources not interviewed nor dealt with.

Here’s an incomplete list of the people who declined to be interviewed by Durham (weird how declining an interview wasn’t an option with Mueller):

    Peter Strzok
    Bill Priestap
    James Comey
    Andrew McCabe
    Kevin Clinesmith
    Rodney Joffe
    Marc Elias
    Glenn Simpson…
    And many more.

An early cynical view by Lee Smith — that Durham covers up the criminality of the Democrat federal state coup d’état — is proved accurate.

  21. physicsguy adds that with Ds
ust below the surface is a white hot hatred of ‘you’; meaning anyone with a conservative opinion. The hatred will unleash itself at” the slightest provocative R-leaning opinion.

“Driving this is their very high opinion of themselves vis-a-vis ‘you’.
I’m beginning to think we should return in kind.”

YOU HAVEN’T LEARNED that Obama herded his followers to behave THIS way?
You haven’t learned that we must RESOLUTELY behave just as obnoxiously?

  22. Alex Mercouris in London adds other BIG missing threads in the Durham report.

There’s no mention of Josef Mifsud — the professor from Malta, living in Italy — — who’s been missing for years (except via som Swiss lawyer, or something like that). Nor is there any mention of University of Cambridge consigliere Stefan Halper.

Alex goes on with more missing figures…
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PRjlMJlDxps

All of this concerns George Papadopoulos and Carter Page, as well as Mike Flynn’s targeted but innocent Russian honeytrap, then a doctoral student at Cambridge.

Not even Lt General Mike Flynn is mentioned! THIS defect makes his “Report” bizarre.

And whereas the Inspector General Michael Horowitz asserts “unethical” actions by the government. By contrast, Special Counsel Durham’s report does not even rise to that level of objection.

Yet the entire affaire concerns seditious conspiracy to topple the lawfully elected President. The Durham Report is intellectually dishonest.

  23. Yes, once you identify an enemy and pound away at it, the rest is easy. People’s minds only really engage when they see something they don’t like, and when it comes to politics it’s more their emotions than their minds that are engaged. When it comes to people and things people approve of, they aren’t thinking but just basking in a halo of wonderfulness.

That’s been especially true of Democrats in the Trump era. It accounts for all those people with “Biden Honesty Integrity Decency” or Biden/Harris Truth Hope Decency” banners and signs and shirts. Trump was so awful that Biden was assumed to be almost saintly. Did they really think that? Maybe they weren’t even thinking, just happy to announce their anti-Trump stand. I notice now that “Integrity Honesty Decency” was a Sanders slogan before it was a Biden slogan. Was even that stolen?
