Medical discrimination on the basis of race — 23 Comments

  1. Yes, straight up racism. And Yes, these “officials” will not be denied treatment. With so many judges now judging based on their politics (which has always been the case but maybe not so blatant) I seriously doubt that these rules will be overturned.
There is no recourse because so many of these “officials” are not beholden to voters for their offices.

  2. And Medical students are going back to the 60s irrationality. The latest is a “black lives” activist group. Mostly these kids tend to be in the lowest quintile of medical students because they spend their time on demonstrating instead of studying. I am so happy that I ended my teaching 5 years ago. The medical school I taught at (and from which I graduated in 1966) had quite a few black students. The majority were not American born. American blacks, even medical students who should be on the far right end of the Bell Curve, tend to have problems emotionally. Victim culture, probably.

  3. Neo writes:

“And my guess is that government officials in those states will always be able to get the treatment they want, no matter what their race, both for themselves and their loved ones.”

I would also guess that the majority of these government officials are themselves white. What is it with white people trying to make their own race suffer? Is it because they are absolving themselves of original sin? Or just glorying in their power to lord it over others?

This, BTW, is the same thing that happens with Congressional law-making: the Congress is not subject to the edicts they are imposing on the public in general. So, for example, they are exempt from FOIA laws and other regulations they regally sprinkle on the rest of us.

Seems to me as if a policy or law is good enough for the general public, it is good enough for the people promulgating it.

This civilization is rapidly regressing to the medieval with a small aristocracy of tech billionaires, small middle class and a vast population of serfs. Like medieval aristocracy, the techies are buying indulgences.

Hedge fund billionaires and those who inherited vast wealth, like the Packard children and grandchildren, know they have contributed nothing to society aside from manipulating money or inheriting it, so they buy indulgences from today’s secular saints, BLM and Antifa. They make sure they are far from the results, of course.

  5. What is it with white people trying to make their own race suffer?

The white people injured are ordinary wage earners, not PLU. PLU take advantage of the fine print and cadge exemptions from rules which apply to others.

  6. This is the result of striking the word “equality” and replacing it with “equity”. Now people are not equal regardless of skin color and skin color primarily determines how they should be treated, at least in the jurisdictions pushing this racism. Those pushing this new racism should be called out for sowing division in our public and eroding trust.

  7. Mike K’s comment is spot on.

Leland: ain’t no one gonna call the anti-white racists out. No one.

  8. Mike K’s comment about the elites buying indulgences is the best description I’ve seen.

Apparently, since Florida was buying the GSK antibody treatment separately, in September HHS took it over and is rationing it nationally. It would seem these people actually want deaths. Fortunately, the omicron variant may not deliver the deaths they crave and need for continued control.

  9. This is the result of striking the word “equality” and replacing it with “equity”.

That’s an indicator that someone wants your home equity.

  10. Minnesota has become insane. I have family, lived, and worked in Minnesota. They were always traditional liberal, but now the people in charge are leftist.

    The MN leaders do not understand their demographics. Maybe they do and want to save money;

2020 Racial composition of the population of Minnesota[79]
    Race Population (2020) Percentage
    Total population 5,706,494 100%
White or European American 4,423,146 77.5%
Black or African American 398,434 7.0%
    Native American 68,641 1.2%
    Asian American 299,190 5.2%
Native Hawaiian and Other Pacific Islander 2,918 0.1%
    Some other race 168,444 3.0%
Two or more races 345,721 6.1%

This information follows your comment on your Kundera post.

  11. F: “What is it with white people trying to make their own race suffer?”

That’s just it, the politicians do not see your average white person as being a part of their “tribe” any more than they see your average black person a part of their tribe.

Anyone who isn’t among the self-anointed elite is an “other” and race means little to them except as a tool to use to gain/retain power. This isn’t to say there aren’t bigots among the elite, there are; but to many elites race is just another tool to create an “other.”

Many used race as a tool during segregation and are now using it as a tool today. Once it was the Jews, blacks, whatever the latest immigrant group is, etc. Today the current fashion is to make working-class whites the other.

P.S., I hope no one misunderstands me. I am not agreeing with this use of race as a tool, I am just calling it I see it. IMO, it is the true “deplorables” who do this.

  12. Another straw upon the camel’s back. Another brick wrenched from the dam.

    Cicero,

Plenty of deplorables and irredeemables will and are speaking out against this latest example of racism.

Among others, doubtless Tucker Carlson will speak about it.

    Mike K,

Not original sin, ancestral sin that only racial and cultural suicide are sufficient for atonement.

  13. Government discrimination against white people is the new norm. There are so many instances of it, at all levels of government, that I just assume that is what is happening and hardly take notice anymore. When a case gets to the court, it is overturned (with the exception of affirmative action), but the damage is already done. San Francisco mayor London just last week admitted she had defunded the SF Police and directed the money saved to the Black Community. Clear violation of the 14th Amendment! As Instapundit (I think) once said, “Worst White Supremecy ever”.

  14. Spot on, Mike K!

And then I read GB’s emendation to Ancestral Sin.

Just shrunk the spot. Perfect description.

Perhaps a trifle terse for my tastes 🙂

Gotta love these Melting Pots. I haven’t the slightest interest in how systems are *supposed* to work. I’m only interested in how they *do* work (if at all) and in their failure modes.

  15. Edward R. Bonderenka:

I’m rusty on this, but wouldn’t any white person or person of uncolor who was denied treatment because of these guidelines have standing to sue? And wouldn’t the Jan 6 detainees have standing to sue on the other issue?

  16. Z scores another own goal, and shows his own Fruedian slip.

He thought that the American Center for Law and Justice, was something else. Fixated, indeed. Sad.
