  1. Art Deco:

The US women’s soccer team takes a knee to protest the treatment of blacks. Curious, I went to a webpage, TeamUSA dot org, that pictured all of the competitors on the US Olympic team. Some were competing in more than one category. Of the 431 pictures, 135 appeared to me to be black. 31%

As I understand it, that violates the new “Equity,” which insists that all outcomes be in accord with race. Or, did I get it wrong?

  2. Horse Girl reminded me of a Turkish family that was featured some years back on a BBC documentary titled The Family That Walks on All Fours. The family was featured more recently on the Australian version of 60 Minutes:

This family has been diagnosed with Uner Tan Syndrome or UTS, named for the Turkish biologist who first studied the Ulas family living in a rural area of southern Turkey. According to Wikipedia, “Uner Tan syndrome has been linked to intrafamilial marriage and reproduction, which suggests that it is an autosomal recessive disorder. The main characteristic of this syndrome is habitual quadrupedalism, meaning they can stand up straight until they try to move, then they walk on their hands and knees.” Affected family members also have learning disabilities and difficulties with speech. The major controversy related to UTS is whether the syndrome represents reverse evolution in humans (as its discoverer maintains), or whether it is primarily a genetic and neurological disorder.

You got it wrong. “Equity” means they seize your home equity and turn it over to D’Shawn. Also, you’re children are compelled by truancy laws to attend schools where they’re told you and your family are bad people by birth and require re-education.

  4. PA+Cat:

I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that I’ve witnessed Uner Tan Syndrome among the inhabitants of certain U.S. cities located in Oregon . . .

  5. Walter…that’s what you say AFTER you’ve had a few stubbies of medicine.

  6. The failure of the trans weightlifter will be used to normalize trans participation in women’s sports. Like, see, they lose, too, just like you, so shut up and accept the new rules.

  7. A testament to exactly how adaptable human beings are.

Nevertheless, I am sticking with bipedal mobility…

  8. How long until she fractures a wrist, hand, or forearm? This is where a parent’s or grandparent’s wisdom should step in. Not to wrap her in bubble wrap but eventually the God of Copybook Headings ….

  9. @ Zaphod “so much for the ADL being Anti-Israel.”

I wonder if there are competing factions in the organization?
Or, the people to whom the ADL is grateful (a Democrat administration in this case) are NOT the “white supremacists” they are inveighing against, who are all conservative or Republicans (of course).

However, the fact that Democrats generally, & the Left always, diss Israel (even if Congress hands out largesse) while conservatives cheer the Zionist Enterprise kind of makes things difficult.

  10. Best to be prepared…in these, the baddest of times, the saddest of times.

Aye, there’s a time to weep; and a time to weep even harder…thus sprach the NYT, apparently, though it’s never really clear if they actually KNOW what they’re saying or if they’ve all become bots. (Hmmm, one might wonder: why so sad? are they losing money hand over fist? Has “Biden” been spectacularly successful at showing us all—transparently, of course, not to mention robustly—the criminal goofiness, or rather awfulness, of the Left, i.e., even more successfully than the NYT itself?

To be sure, for a news org that seems to exult in (even as it contributes to) America’s destruction, what makes the NYT sad might well be a cause for joy to all decent humans. Though no doubt they’ll find some tawdry Trump stuff to print and so be able to cheer up a bit… In the meantime, though, maybe they can find, or hire, some emotive (Democratic) senators to shed a tear or two…

  11. Woke commercials seem to becoming all the rage as well…and will continue to be until they’re proven to prompt consumers to buy very few of those products being advertised.

(Though it could the case that woke, or woke-friendly, merchandisers—in order to establish their anti-capitalist “bona fides”—may, in fact, prefer not to sell anything at all….)

In any event, here’s something—from nature, our greatest teacher(?)—that Ray-Ban(R) may well consider developing under the rubric of “redefining glamor”:
