Well, at least we’re not Canada — 17 Comments

  1. He started doing these Viva On The Street videos back in January in the snow and now he is in shorts sometimes. Some of them are amazing as he walks through the abandoned streets of Montreal with his dog at like 9 PM.

  2. I’m Canadian, but at least I’m not in Canada. I’m a guest in the USA for a few more weeks (and have been since early January), but soon have to return home to face the music. Friends in greater Toronto describe a country that I no longer recognize. No smiles, empty streets in our biggest tourist attractions (its a great time to visit Niagara Falls), and people trying to cope with the new “normal”.

To what end? Viva Frei is right: our Healthcare system is not the paradise that Bernie Sanders describes. It’s hanging on by a thread. Our hospitals were overwhelmed 30 years ago (when my younger self dated a nurse who was constantly called in for midnight shifts because they were “overwhelmed”). To avoid the specter of ambulances being turned away at the hospital door, the People’s Paradise of Canuckistan must lock its citizens inside.

Why? The answer is obvious: think of the electoral fallout…

  3. Turn governance over to the inmates, refuse to revolt and this is what you get. Why isn’t every Canadian who recognizes the insanity peacefully marching in the streets? Apparenty the sane are in a distinct minority. Western civilization apparently has a death wish. And why wouldn’t they, given that they’ve drunk the left’s kool-aid and imbibed the meme that racial and cultural suicide is the only way to atone for their ancestral sins…

  4. I had never heard of Five Times August until I stopped by Bookworm’s blog last night. Five Times August is the music created by singer/songwriter/guitarist Bradley James Skistimas, presently based in Dallas. Here’s a song he posted just three weeks ago, titled “Jesus . . . What Happened to Us?” It’s a powerful visual as well as musical commentary on politicians’ exploitation of the pandemic and the resulting ripping apart of our social fabric:

  5. A wonderful and accurate rant against govt oppression (and, BTW, the judicial system, kicking the can down the road).
As an observer, however, I must remark that Canada has been going down the road to Hell for maybe 30 years. Letting Chicomm millionaires become citizens by buying enough real estate in Vancouver, for example.

I’ve been in Canada maybe 50 times. They chose socialist heath care. I was made to wait as the solitary person in an ER once, needing a only Sunday prescription, because the doc needed to chat on the phone for 45 minutes, and it was not about medicine but about making me wait.

It is part of the Suicide of the West. Lots of states are run the same way. Example: Massachusetts. 78% vote for Biden, wasn’t it, Neo?
A US family was recently kicked off a US airline because their three year-old daughter was eating and so had her mask off.

So tell me about how the “good” Germans became obedient to the Nazis. Because that is what’s happening here, with some blessed kickbacks like DeSantis in FL.

  6. Another sign that Canada is going down the drain. The pastor that kicked out the police in Saskatchewan was arrested by a SWAT team in the middle of the highway. Later they bragged about it. As has been said by me several times, the police are not our friends.

Then I think of what happened to Roger Stone and Brian Kolfage.

  7. Canada is not alone. The entire USA, save the South and rural Midwest, is going down the toilet with it into Naziland. About 9000 people have sent funds for Pastor Artur’s defense, me among them.

  8. Virus fascism in Canada. Dave Rubin hosts a round table on the prosecution for “health reasons” versus freedom protests in Canada with Ezra Levantine, Mikhala Peterson, and Viva Frei.

One cannot help but think that the Ruling Class in Canada are imitating US fascism, using Big Welfare subsidies of the media, for example, to buy enthusiastic compliance for severe, endless lock downs almost comparable to China and North Korea.

‘The collapse of the liberal Left in America?” as the model, asks Rubin.

Americans should worry. PM Trudeau has plans to continue the oppression into 2024.

  9. “…imitating US fascism…”

(Well yes, but with hints and highlights of Bolshevism.)

Such imitation ought surprise no one, since Trudeau was always Obama “light”, which means, in effect, that he’s segued seamlessly into “Biden” “light”.

He ALWAYS was waiting for the “golden opportunity”, which he believes has finally arrived (now that arch-demon, DJT, that Satan—that uncouth, unsavory and uncool adversary—is out of the way), bestowed upon a grateful elite (they who understand how to exploit it) with the “blessing” of COVID, soon to be followed by the “blessing” of Anthropogenic Global Warming, which, when manipulated skillfully, will hasten the arrival of the New Dawn of the Progressive Party of the ALWAYS Future (IOW that “rough beast”).

Not sure, however, that Canada’s parliamentary system will be as amenable to “Liberal” (AKA fascist) “takeover” (AKA coup) that America’s Republican system has alas proven itself to be (at least thus far).

  10. The passivity you see is because us law-abiding, whether in Canada or the USA are the ones made examples of when we break their ‘rules’. We face actual fines, jail and loss of employment REAL punishment) because our moral and personal capital is in good citizenship. The riotous lawbreakers have millionaire-billionaire founders who bail them out, their moral capital isn’t a problem because they have none, and they have no worries about public or neighborhood perception. The funders of lawlessness also fund the law makers.

  11. > A US family was recently kicked off a US airline because their three year-old daughter was eating and so had her mask off.

We have a generation that was raised with those absurd “zero tolerance” rules in the schools and it shows.

  12. This pandemic has shown everyone’s true colors. It’s revealed the fact that a large percentage of the populace has an inner tyrant who is dying to get out. Yes, it’s made things a lot worse in ways that have nothing to do with the virus and associated disease, but on the flip side, it’s accelerated an inevitable trend in government and public behavior, and hopefully gotten us closer to the point where we can start going back towards sanity.

  13. What most people fail to understand is that Fascism is a far leftist ideology. In no part is it a conservative political movement. Musolini was a communist who was attempting to make socialism palatable to catholic Italy.

  14. Second the recommendation by PA+Cat’s link to “Jesus…what happened to us?” It’s stayed with me for these couple of days:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xu0GPo7GkPk

I also recommend Helen Andrews’ _Boomers: The Men and Women Who Promised Freedom and Delivered Disaster_ on the same theme.

  15. Note, both Alberta and Quebec are governed by what purports to be the conservative parties in their respective provinces. The entire Canadian political class is warring on the Canadian people while PayPal (at the behest of some shadowy figure) is warring on Ezra Levant.
