More steps toward the defenestration of Andrew Cuomo? — 24 Comments

  1. He’s a bad man. That having been said, one should have little doubt that this is orchestrated, and another indication that each component of the news media is an extension of one or another faction in the Democratic Party. Cui Bono and what is their connection to Letitia James? None of this is on the level.

  2. If forced to resign – which I assign a minus 99.99% probability of occurring – he will declare that the unfounded and misrepresented facts have made it impossible to carry out his duties for the people of New York, and any shortcomings of his policies were the result of Trump’s actions.

He will then lay low for a few years, and then one day, poof !!! , he will be resurrected and will be within the top 5 or 10 demokrat party candidates for president.
All his past misdeeds – all of which he will deny or for which he will blame Trump – will be forgotten and regardless, he has “learned ” from any inadvertent errors of the past.
He will declare ” I am now wiser and more experienced to move the nation forward.”
The compliant and deferential media will once again circle the wagons and never bring up his incompetent past as they all unite in their new-founded support of Cuomo.

  3. It would be instructive indeed (albeit hardly surprising to any conservative) to compare the amount of coverage devoted by the MSM to all the scandals involving Cuomo (or Newsom) with the relentless coverage, over several days, of the non-important story of the vacation taken by Cruz and his family. The leftist media mislead and obfuscate in many ways, by fabrication, by misdirection, by omission and neglect, by misinformation and disinformation, and by distraction and “gaslighting”, while indulging in every fallacy of logical reasoning (ad hominem, straw-man, etc.)

  4. At this point it seems like this will only end his 2024 presidential hopes, but not his Governorship. His approval ratings remain high despite all of this (57% approve). Never underestimate the downstate electorate’s ability to be deluded. So, yeah, if the goal was to remove him as a Presidential threat, but still keep him as governor I think it’s working.

  5. The evidence that Cuomo is a terrible person, incompetent Gov, bully and a general @sshole is mounting … more and more.

But who will see it? Only the people that would never vote for him in the first place.

  6. I wish people would use Cuomo and Newsom ( and, Becerra, and Waltz and his friends) to start a campaign against the national popular vote. Who in the h*** wants New Yorkers and Californians to determine future presidents. And don’t forget that Biden wants to give more money to bail out these terribly run states.

  7. Now we have things like this in Newswekk:

You do an amazing job in avoiding typos Neo. This one reminds me of a regular snicker to be had at the old Matt Drudge site. Newsweak reports …

  8. Cui bono?

Throwing that sack of excrement onto a dung pile from a great height is entertaining.

But the pile-on is not happening because some random group of brave journalists and engaged individuals suddenly saw the light about his misdeeds.

Who in the Inner Party wants him out and why?

  9. It would be interesting if this were the straw on the back. I am reminded of Spitzer’s fate in a way. (What ever happened to him, anyway? Funny enough, he had also been NY Attorney General before the big chair. One senses a pattern somehow.)

While this latest revelation is interesting, I still doubt, along with Nonapod and a couple of other folks, that it will suffice to induce His Highness’ departure. As for the impeachment idea, I am not yet sold on the state legislature having the willpower for that either, though it is slightly impressive that it seems to have made as much noise as it has to date. No, I’m working on the assumption that we’ll just have to soldier on.

(Edit: that part in the opening quote about the special treatment of the nursing homes in the budget is in a sense old news, but still useful in this context to know, because not every source that has discussed the whole brouhaha over fatality data has brought out that connection.)

  10. Nobody is shocked; everybody knows what kind of people the Cuomo Family is made of. I believe that Cuomo just hasn’t agreed the terms of whatever it is he’s being pressed for, politically. Trust me, once that is arranged, this story will disappear faster than you can say ‘Tara Reade’ – there won’t even be a puff of woke smoke.

  11. I’m with Zaphod on this one. He deserves his comeuppance, but there is a bigger game afoot and folks who do not have our best interests at heart are orchestrating this. When they can so easily take down the Governor of one of our larger states, who is “mostly” on their team, but not completely on their team, that is an indication of their control over the Democrat party.

    This one makes me nervous.

  12. Ummm….

    “renascence”??

    Edna St. Vincent Milay? 😀

Along with Newswekk… Rushed, today, huh? 😉

  13. I’m with Zaphod and Rufus on this one.
Who in the inner party wants this guy out? Because it sure is coming down on him hard and fast.
Intrigue aside, it is so much fun to be able to ask progressive F&F; “So then, this Cuomo guy, didn’t he used to be your hero?
    Whiplash much?”

  14. Sarah Hoyt excerpted and linked to this post at 3:03am, Instapundit time. Prepare for Instalanche!

  15. Who cares what happens to Killer Cuomo? The state got the President(s) they wanted. Slo Jo and the Ho will never prosecute. “Killer” Cuomo will retire with his reward and the Corruptocrats will annoint another sock puppet.

Unless some bereived child with an axe handle catches the Executioner out in the open….

In Russian, his kind murdered millions for the “Party”, millions in the Ukraine, etc., etc. He is just one willing to do anything to get his hands in the pile of gold stolen from the victims.

I rather like the axe handle solution, although I have a fondness for the Old Joisey tradition of concrete “over shoes” and a last boat ride past the Statue of Liberty.

  16. Spent three days in NYC a couple of years ago. Seemed longer. Tempting as it is to generalize, I can’t really say anybody I met there would think this is just a tempest in a tea pot. But the fact is, they elected this clown before and….this is the straw that breaks the electorate’s back?
    Not seeing it.
The dems are going to be out in front of the electorate on this, particularly when it comes to a replacement.
Not likely to be the love child of deBlasio and AOC. I imagine somebody like that could be elected, but it won’t be allowed.

Said it before, but I like it so much. “Up until age forty, you have the face your parents gave you. After that, the face is the face you earned.” And I look at Chuck Schumer….. That’s the democrat party.

  17. Anyone surprised at this did not pay attention to Prince Andrew’s role as his father’s hatchet man during the glory years of Hamlet on the Hudson. He has always been a thug. I suspect D’s liked him because he was their thug. Usefulness at an end, put him out with the trash.

Same reason D’s love Antifa — they are their terrorists.

  18. Some of you are playing the role of the Lame Stream Media today. Just like the media overplaying the Ted Cruz trip to Cancun. Neo produces a quality product Day in and Day out and one typo. To wit: Newswekk and you attack. Shame on you

  19. And “the media”cannot understand why we distrust it/them (some of us also despise and detest them–in 3Ds).

  20. Who in the Inner Party wants him out and why?

    Who? “Biden” (IOW Obama)

WHY? Because Cuomo’s not as malleable as Gov. Pritzker of IL. That is, Cuomo’s “our thug” but we can’t control him as much as we’d like to. Too much of a loose cannon for a crime organization that relies on collusion and putting on a united front—ah, maybe THAT’s the “unity” that “Biden” keeps referring to….

So will Cuomo get the Alinsky treatment? After all he was absolutely splendid when he kept blaming Trump for the COVID deaths (and everything else)—though he did stray off the reservation a tad, once, when he actually did commend Trump for helping out; but he learned his lesson quickly and even earned himself an Emmy for it!

    Stay tuned!
