First we had fake news. Now we have… — 24 Comments

  1. The polls cannot be trusted and no prediction about the election should be taken seriously, but there are obviously only three possible outcomes. If Biden clearly wins, our republic as we know it is finished forever; if Trump clearly wins, the unrest and the violence from the left will only intensify, abetted by the mendacious MSM, but a third possibility seems increasingly likely, with no clear victor (thanks to massive numbers of contested mail-in ballots) and endless squabbling among the lawyers for both sides. No rational person could truly believe that voting by mail is unproblematic, yet WaPo just today implied that this belief is caused by “Russian propaganda.”

  2. The fact that the demokrat party leaders have determined that a senile old man is their candidate for president says volumes about what they think of the USA and the citizenry.

It is no secret that he simply is a Trojan Horse ; he is incapable of making any rationale decisions on his own , he will be easily manipulated to endorse programs his (OK, not his, but Obama’s people, Sander’s and AOC desire) advisors suggest and who was selected because he will be easily manipulated and controlled.
He will make the post-stroke Woodrow Wilson look like the most alert and mentally astute person who ever walked on planet earth.

No need to go into the incredibly lame and stupid excuses that Pelosi, the Mayors of Portland, Chicago, etc., have put forth to excuse their actions (or lack thereof). They actually believe, and expect !!! , the citizenry will buy into their unbelievable excuses.

What does that tell us about how demokrats think of the citizenry??

In all seriousness, if the demokrats knew with 100 % certainty that they could have both housed of Congress and the presidency for the next 50 years, provided they approved dropping an H-bomb over Oklahoma and killing 3 million citizens, they would not hesitate for one second to do this.
Their contempt and hatred for the citizenry of this nation knows no bounds.

Remember, “you have to crack a few eggs to make an omelette.”
The dems are willing to crack many, many eggs to make thousands of omelettes.

If Biden / Harris win this election, one can only hope that the US military comes to the rescue and eliminates the newly elected administration and ALL their congressional supporters.
Otherwise, we will be the next Venezuela.

It is a very very sad commentary indeed, that Biden/Harris do have a good chance to win the elections.
What does this say about the American voter??

  3. According to Ace, reading answers to questions off prepared note cards?

It is unconscionable for a major political party to be running a candidate in obvious cognitive decline.

  4. I heard that MSNBC, CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS, NPR are all trying desperately to hire Baghdad Bob as their top news director. He is demanding a salary far north of 7 figures and the competition to sign him is intense.

  5. First question… ‘…What does that tell you about Trump’s soul?’

    ‘It’s deplorable.’

    Kill me now.

  6. Closest to this topic, being fake news and all.

If anyone was surprised by the nonsensical lie being pushed by The Atlantic, they shouldn’t have been.

The story, from “anonymous sources” claimed that President Donald Trump didn’t want to visit an American cemetery in France because he said dead military members “losers” and “suckers.” Anyone reading that would know it was fake and it was immediately debunked from all quarters by people willing to go on the record. But it sounded a lot more like the offensive way that the left depicts the military.

The fact that such an obviously false story would be pushed shows how desperate they are at this point. It’s also pretty clear that one big font of support for the president and the GOP in general is the military. Consequently, Democrats have to find some way to unhinge that support.

It’s 60 days before the election. Democrats and their willing acolytes in the media have already shown that they are willing to do anything they possibly can to win back the White House.

“Full Measure News” Sharyl Attkisson had a warning for everyone.

I’ve read several stories on this blatant fabrication, but so far no one has mentioned that the MSM is trying to evoke memories of Trump’s remarks in 2016 about John McCain.
(Yes, the slam was offensive; no, that does not disqualify Trump from being president; yes, McCain’s military service and harrowing experience should not be demeaned; no, that does not exempt him from political criticism.)

  7. I’m not seeing the note cards or TelePrompTer. Can someone help me? Are the reporters asking the questions ever displayed?

  8. According to Brit Hume, who watched the press conference, the questions asked were an embarrassment to anyone claiming to be a journalist.

  9. Fake news is now a cottage industry.

    https://www.redstate.com/nick-arama/2020/09/04/smells-like-coordination-new-ads-based-off-atlantic-story-that-just-dropped-last-night/

We’ve been reporting on this story from The Atlantic from “anonymous sources” claiming the president didn’t go to an American military cemetery in France two years ago, because he called military members “losers” and “suckers,” an obvious and transparent lie. The story has now been debunked six ways to Sunday by real people who are willing to go on the record and who were there at the time.

But this story dropped late Thursday night on the east coast. So we find it rather curious that the anti-Trump leftist group, “Vote Vets,” had this ad up early this morning, talking specifically about what was in the article, using the particular alleged terms, “losers” and “suckers.”

How were they able to find those six Goldstar families and do interviews over night? Really? And had all the production values? Then they were able to get it on Morning Joe first thing?

It even has a “secure blue” link to donate to on the video.

The Democratic Super PAC American Bridge already has another ad out on this too and launching a $4 million ad buy in Midwestern battleground states to try to pitch to the Midwest that Trump doesn’t like the military. The ad features an alleged former Trump supporter military person now claiming he’ll be voting for Biden.

But unfortunately the story doesn’t have to be true. All that the Democrats need is for any in the middle to think it might be and hold their vote from Trump. That’s what Democrats are aiming for here.

Journolist never went away, it just went undercover.

  10. I’ve done some stupid things in my time, but I would never vote for a cockroach – I used to hunt those things, and to this day, they’re one of the very few types of bugs for which I have a shoot-on-sight policy. Them and bedbugs. Fortunately, I haven’t had to see a roach in many years – I had my fill of them in an earlier time. Ugh.

    (That was me being light-hearted….)

I did watch some of the presentation to which you, Neo, linked. It was weird. But would this be a good place to ask about something else I’ve been curious about?… that young woman who got up to talk to Biden in Kenosha, who started out saying something about how she was supposed to say something off a text she’d been given, but she couldn’t do that because he needs to hear the truth… that sounded interesting to me and I wondered what it was about. Maybe she said something his handlers didn’t want to hear….

Biden can get up in front of some painted cardboard in a basement somewhere and read his notes as much as he wants, I don’t care. I have a couple of thoughts about what’s happening to him which are inconsequential at this point. But again, while he’s being propped up in this succession of diorama displays, what is Harris doing? Is she out there giving more, and more animated, speeches? Is she busy plotting with big donors, etc.? Why is all the attention on this Biden marionette? How much is she getting away with unobserved?

  11. AesopFan on September 4, 2020 at 6:23 pm:
The reference to a “secure blue” link for donations prompts me to ask the following:
If you donate a small amount (say 50 cents) to a campaign (via credit card or check), does it cost them more than that amount to process the donation, such that you thereby reduce their net campaign war chest?
And if that is true, is doing so illegal in any way?

  12. Pitiful. And, as I said before, I mean that literally. Biden is an empty shell of a man, who nevertheless is hungry for “power” (or at least the appearance therein); he is being propped up, but mostly willingly. Leave aside the partisan divide for a minute: it’s quite sad. Not that he ever was anything impressive: always an amiable dunce, he was the epitome of a Washington politico, ever present, often laughable, never impressive, but savvy enough to keep the good citizens of Delaware electing him over and over and over again; and then, stay in Obama’s good graces.

    And now…this.

  13. Ackler:

Well said. The most puzzling thing about Biden is how mediocre he’s always been, and yet he winds up the Democratic nominee at nearly 80, when his mind is faltering. You couldn’t write a script like that. And yet that’s where we’ve arrived.

  14. What if Biden wins? I feel Faith2014’s reaction. “Kill me now.” I understand je’s reaction that if Biden wins our republic is “finished forever”. But no, the sun will come up the day after election day and the process of the American Revolution will go on. Our responsibility to defend our inalienable rights will not diminish one iota. Our founders brought the awareness of the inalienable quality of those rights into human consciousness and it is not easily erased – particularly by the self defeating tyranny of the French Revolution as distilled by the neo Marxists into the latest manifestation of the far older totalitarian impulse. They even set up a Guillotine outside the White House and beheaded a Trump manikin during the RNC. Let’s face it – Biden has already won through the Gramscian Long March which is rapidly moving to destroy the very monuments of the American Founding. Whatever happens, we still have the work of renewing the American Revolution ahead of us. As the husband of Mary Lincoln (who’s family owned slaves) put it at Gettysburg “to be dedicated here to the unfinished work..that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.”

  15. Biden reminds me a little of Paul von Hindenburg, except that Hindenberg had a stronger background.

Both are/were senile old men, being used as fronts for nasty extremists. For the grads of current American schools, Hindenberg was the 86-year-old president of Germany who gave power to Hitler in 1933.

  16. As I saw the faux almost anger at a unconfirmed Atlantic mess — whose only purpose was to give life to John McCain insult — it reminded me of Harrison Ford’s “clear and present danger” an angry president making a huge mistake. Would love to see a Trump making this into an ad of Biden’s lack of temperament to be POTUS

  17. Both are/were senile old men, being used as fronts for nasty extremists.

Hindenburg wasn’t a front for anyone. Just senescent. To the extent he was being used, it was by Kurt von Schleicher. v. Schleicher’s preference would have been for an authoritarian regime of a technocratic-praetorian character, not a Nazi regime. (Keep in mind that by 1938, constitutional government in Europe was limited to the British isles, Scandinavia, the Low Countries, France, Switzerland, Czechoslovakia, and, to a degree, Hungary).

  18. They are indeed going to vote for a cockroach who is not POTUS but ex-VPOTUS. Why else would he be a denizen of the basement?

My problem with that is, where are the damn omelets?!

  20. Sharyl Attkisson suggested that Trump just read out those questions at his next presser and give his own answers. That would be a riot.

  21. Re ‘teleprompter and notes’
I read somewhere that they used a large TV out of view of the camera so that it could appear as if SlowJoe were actually thinking up the answers. Except that he cannot read that well. “End Quote”.
