  1. That was very good! These guys are terrific, and absolutely correct.

    Since I don’t watch CNN, this is the first time I’ve ever heard Don Lemon. He’s completely eliminated any Louisiana Creole accent he ever had. Too bad he didn’t cultivate his mind while changing his image.

  3. And Lemon is of course wrong when he says “Black Lives Matter” is only about police brutality. The BLM website and leadership make it clear it’s about a laundry list of progressive/socialist causes, very few of which have anything to do with police brutality and very few of which would benefit black Americans (or anybody else).

    Keith Hodge and Kevin Hodge (born September 17, 1975) known professionally as the Hodgetwins, are American YouTubers, and stand-up comedians.

    The process of coming out has not been cost-less, but they have apparently chosen this hill to die on (“that’s a metaphor!”)

    The Hodges were always private about their political views, but in 2018, they opened up as conservatives and supporters of US President Donald Trump.[10] This has been controversial among their fans since majority of their fans were African-American and the group has predominantly been liberals in the past.[11] “Well, we lost a lot of black fans,” they said. “Our shows used to bring in a good mix — black, white, Hispanic — but now, it looks like a Bruce Springsteen concert.”[12]

    The #Black Lives Matter scam is not unlike the one about reparations, which many black people now recognize as Democrat snake-oil: once the Dems get the black votes, the reparations bottle go back onto the shelf (because the whole idea is indefensible).

  10. I have to believe that at least a third of the black population laughs with the Hodge Twins . . . and with us white conservatives. People that can laugh together can live together, and they can talk about the problems we all share. Eliminate the hyphen, we’re all Americans.

  12. One very pointed remark by one of the twins, after describing the horrendous numbers of black-on-black murders, including the “random” (Lemon’s words at 3:33) deaths of so many children.

    Don Lemon said (at 6:31): “when it comes to crime black on black crime people who live near each other black people kill each other same as White’s 80 some percent of white people are killed by white people because of proximity same thing with black people it happens in every single neighborhood”

    The Twin said (at 10:03):
    “if close proximity is a thing, then show me a white Chicago”

    I couldn’t think of an example of a white Chicago.

    Lemon is right that 80% (or thereabouts) of white people are killed by other whites; 90% of blacks are killed by other blacks (if you accept the charts in this post about the numbers in 2015).

    White-on-white killings as a percentage of all homicides involving a white victim also fell, to 81.3 percent, marking the lowest share of such killings since 2001.

    The margins are small, fluctuating by less than 3 percentage points in the last 15 years: Since 2001, the share of black-on-black and white-on-white homicides as a proportion of those killed of each race peaked at 91.9 and 84.2 percent, respectively.

    What Lemon didn’t mention, because it radically undercuts his point, is that those are percentages of much different base numbers.

    In 2018, the number of murder victims was 14,123; men were 10,914 (77%) and women were 3,180 (23%).
    White male victioms-4,255 (30%); black male victims-6,237 (44%); white female victims-1,832 (13%); black female victims-1,168 (8%).
    The rest were “other” or “unknown” races, and were relatively small (628 total, or 4%).

    On the surface, the numbers for blacks and whites look pretty close.
    However, if 80% of the white victims (6087) were killed by white people, that’s 4870 intraracial murders. If 90% of the black victims (7405) were killed by black people, that’s 6665 intraracial murders.

    That looks much worse.
    What blows the proximity analogy all to pieces, though, is that the victims come from hugely different demographics.

    Total population in 2018 – 327,167,439; white – 236,173,020; black – 41,617,764.

    White intraracial murder victims therefore constituted .0026% of their racial demographic; black intraracial murder victims comprised .016% of theirs, a rate that is 6 times higher.
    It’s not just the proximity of people having the same skin color that’s the problem.

    Tyrone Muhammad, a Chicago activist and founder of the fledgling group Ex-Cons for Community and Social Change”, works to change lives before the bullets fly. Muhammad knows both sides of the violence equation. He spent over two decades in prison for murder. He went in a hard-eyed gangster and came out determined to keep other young men from making the same disastrous trek from the South Side to steel bars. I called him for his reaction to the mayhem we saw erupt over the holiday weekend. The local leader told me that he puts very little store in the current slogans and sloganeers:

    ‘“Black Lives Matter” seems to only matter when it’s a police-related shooting. … ‘Black Lives Matter is a political group that has so many political leanings that it clearly uses black death as a hustle. Black death is a hustle for a lot of these outside groups.’

    A hustle, Tyrone Muhammad believes, that ignores the root of the problem driving what he calls a ‘swarm of civil war’ engulfing America’s inner cities: fatherless homes, broken families, official corruption and complacent communities:

    ‘It’s black men’s fault to allow black boys and black men to victimize their own communities and murder their children. We have to take personal responsibility.’ He adds. ‘It should be commended whenever black men say, “It’s our responsibility to reduce violence.”’

  17. AesopFan: Back in the 2000s I crunched the number on extraracial violence between whites and blacks from the DOJ 2005 numbers:

    White-on-Black-sexual-assault-cases: 10
    Black-on-White–sexual-assault-cases: 37,460

    Whites outnumbered Blacks by a ratio of 5.67 in 2005. If you normalize these numbers to compare as if there were as many Blacks as Whites

    White-on-Black-completed-violence-cases: 9,025
    Black-on-White–completed-violence-cases: 742,807

    White-on-Black-sexual-assault-cases: 10
    Black-on-White–sexual-assault-cases: 212,401

    So the likelihood of a Black completing violence against a White is 82x higher than the other way around.

    And the likelihood of a Black committing sexual assault against a White is more than 20,000x higher than the other way around.

    During the Obama years the DOJ stopped breaking the numbers out so these disparities could be seen.
