Impeachment can be preventive… — 10 Comments

  1. Some cultures view anal intercourse as a preventative. AOC has something like this in mind, it appears.

  2. Maybe we should have brain exams for people running for congress. Less than 10 cells and you are ineligible.

  3. It’s honest, anyhow, when Democrats admit they’re only doing this because they fear Trump’s re-election.

  4. Don’t cry for me arhentina, you were supposed to be immortal, thats all we wanted, not much to ask for…

  5. Pelosi’s Dems’ calculation – if we Don’t Impeach, Trump wins.

Maybe, if we Do Impeach, Trump won’t win.

    Maybe.
    Maybe not.
    Probably not – 75% probability.
As the Burisma corruption and bribery becomes more public, the impeachment can be portrayed as the Dems protecting corruption and bribery.
Which seems likely to convince some Independents to vote Trump (most Dems and Reps are already convince of their anti- or pro- Trump votes, respectively.)

The ironic bit is if Biden ends up not being the nominee because of Burisma…
All the bit about Trump “investigating his political opponent” becomes a non-‘crime’.

This seems like one of those moments where they would have been better off letting sleeping dogs lie. But, with seeing their permanent investiture as the noble ruling class in America almost within their grasp, they really can’t help themselves.

  7. I don’t recall reading in the Constitution where it says that a president removed from office by impeachment can’t be elected president again.

  8. Art. I, Sec. 3, para 7: Judgment in Cases of Impeachment shall not extend further than to removal from Office, and disqualification to hold and enjoy any Office of honor, Trust or Profit under the United States: but the Party convicted shall nevertheless be liable and subject to Indictment, Trial, Judgment and Punishment, according to Law.
