The never-ending Mueller investigation ends, but once the needle goes in… — 33 Comments

  1. Indeed! Leftists, the MSM and the DNC (all much of a muchness), not to mention some egregiously brainless Never-Trumpers on the right, are like junkies awaiting the next fix. They have neither the will nor the fortitude to kick the habit, and no amount of evidence will ever penetrate the casing of their feeble intellects.

  2. Remember this conversation, caught from a hot mike….

    – President Obama: “On all these issues, but particularly missile defense, this, this can be solved but it’s important for him to give me space.”
    – President Medvedev: “Yeah, I understand. I understand your message about space. Space for you…”
    – President Obama: “This is my last election. After my election I have more flexibility.”
    – President Medvedev: “I understand. I will transmit this information to Vladimir, and I stand with you.”

The MSM downplayed it. But to have Trump joke about possible Russian possession of Hillary’s 30,000 personal emails and could they give them to the US, from a server that already been taken offline and cleaned, and it is just absolute proof that he is connected to Putin.

It would be funny if someone did a meme of an Absolut Vodka ad, but added all the pictures of the Dems who are involved in this collusion. But, it might be a very large ad.

Yes, I know, Absolut is a Swedish vodka, but Stoli’s never had a good ad campaign. And, alcohol can be addictive….

  3. “But there are a goodly number who are convinced, even now, that Trump is the most uniquely evil man to ever hold the presidency, right up there with the demonic tyrants of history, and must be stopped.”

And many have convinced themselves (or maybe listening to the Goebbels MSM has convinced them) that if a man like Trump made it to the presidency, then that proves that our system of governance as laid out in the constitution is deficient. Hence the electoral college issue, voting age issue, etc. Many are willing to subvert the constitution to get rid of Trump, if that’s what it takes.

    Idiots!

  4. I await the DOJ and FBI and other centers of law enforcement to turn their investigative and prosecutorial powers on those who attempted to subvert our constitutional government with their criminal activities under the color of law.

There definitely was collusion with foreign entities and egregious security lapses by those in the previous administration. And good people were ruined financially and personally by their actions.

If this does not happen, then we are well on the way to a Banana Republic.

  5. Andy McCarthy has a good piece up on NRO now. He says everything should be revealed, starting with the things back in the Obama administration.

  6. One of the reasons I come here is to try to understand how you guys continue to maintain such outrage over obviously made-up crimes or scandals: FISA, Birtherism, etc. Most go nowhere, even in a Republican-controlled FBI and DOJ.

To be fair, some of them appear at least reasonable…like the Hillary Clinton e-mail scandal. But even after she is exonerated, you barrel forward and flock to a candidate screaming “Lock Her Up”.

Fast-forward to 2019 and you are still at it. I think this post explains why.

  7. Manju conflates “birtherism,” a BHO fascination not held by many here, IMO, with abuses of power as we have witnessed in the FISA process, the Hillary email non-investigation and non-prosecution and then is puzzled why no one takes him/her/zer/them seriously. Manju, you are a clown, comedy gold.

  8. “…try to understand…”

Don’t bother. You—and people like you—never will understand. Of course, that couldn’t possibly be your fault.

(FISA and Birtherism in the same breath—absolutely brilliant(!), by the way—shows just why that is the case. Once again, don’t even bother…)

  9. Don’t be too hard on poor Manju. He’s doing the best with what he’s got right now, and it’s very little.

  10. Oh, and Manju—by the way, I don’t recall any birthers here. If there is one that I don’t remember, that person is rather alone on this blog.

And I missed the raucous cries of “lock her up” from all and sundry here.

In fact, a lot of people here weren’t Trump supporters for a long time and many didn’t even vote for him. You may be thinking of some other blog you regularly troll around. But you know what? Trump’s performance as president—plus the sad twistings of people such as you—have convinced a lot of people that he’s been a pretty good president after all.

  11. Says MSNBC jackass Joy Reid today, since AG Barr has not recused himself, as Sessions did, “It feels like the seeds of a coverup here.”

    See https://www.breitbart.com/clips/2019/03/23/msnbcs-joy-reid-on-doj-handling-of-mueller-report-it-feels-like-the-seeds-of-a-cover-up-are-here/

These low I.Q., obsessed idiots will just not stop, no matter what.

They will find something–anything, no matter how inconsequential or ludicrous–as an indicator that the Mueller investigation, which has apparently found no wrongdoing on Trump’s part, was somehow flawed, deliberately compromised, incomplete, saying that yet another investigation is needed “to get to the bottom of things.”

The thing is, one would think that, at some point, even the least sentient among us will twig to the fact that this is all just total bullshit, political theater, Kabuki, and a total waste of time and effort.

A pointless political witch hunt which acts as a roadblock, a diversion away from dealing with the actual problems of this country.

Besides trying to drive Trump out of office, perhaps this diversion, this roadblock is not the only aim of these investigations.

Perhaps, from the very beginning, its also really been about absolving the Democrats–so busy “doing the people’s work” of investigating Trump–from having to do the actual hard legislative business they were elected to do, to offer any actual compromise solutions/legislation to fix our national problems, instead of just slogans, and unworkable, pie in the sky, feel good, virtue signalling programs like the GDN.”

  12. Collusion junkie David Frum is climbing the walls over at The Atlantic today.

Frum went to law school, then eschewed practice and found work as an editorial writer and speechwriter. He presented him self as a libertarian ca. 1994, a crusader against our enemies in the Near East ca. 2003, as the recrudescence of Rockefeller Republicanism ca. 2009, and is now (in a double act with David French) peddling the worst sort of Democratic Party propaganda as if it was something we should take seriously. You ever get the impression it’s all been a performance by a very bored (independently wealthy) man?

  13. Amidst a booming economy; Mideast resurgence as ISIS’ rabid psychopaths drain off; totalitarian NorKo and Venezuelan deliquescence; radical deconstruction of treacherous Deep State subversion from Mueller down: Against scuttering Rats’ stupidity, the Gods themselves are helpless.

  14. I dont believe that anyone actually “believes that Trump is uniquely evil”. These people are addicted to rage, which requires a simple target (as Alinsky noted) so “Trump” is the proxy for all of us loyal Americans – who they really do hate.

  15. I am, have been, and will be a “lock her up” guy.
Clinton was NOT exonerated. Comey had been told not to prosecute, did a quick investigation giving many guilty folk immunity, and said, with no proof nor trial, that Clinton “did not intend” to break the law, therefore he’s not recommending an indictment.
She was guilty of illegally having Secret info on her illegal server which was illegally handling gov’t business.

The law on Secret info which she broke has no need for intent. But Comey chose not to indict. He literally covered up for her.
I understand that Barr is not pushing to prosecute her, either — tho I think he should. I am firm on this, but not obsessed — Trump right after getting elected said he wasn’t going to investigate (I say this was Trump’s worst mistake, so far.)

The deep state, including “Reps” like Comey & Mueller, are hugely anti-Trump.
Every organization has two different types of people — those whose first priority is the mission of the organization, and those whose first priority is the organization.
The FBI, the Catholic Church, IBM, your local school. Every org.

Over time, those whose priority is the organization get control of the org, even at the cost of the mission. Reform without breaking the org gets very difficult, and often does not succeed.

The G-men, mostly org first folks, mean there is no gov’t org, not even the Army of which he is Commander In Chief, no gov’t org which is really Trump’s.

    He’s done a phenomenal job.
The Mueller report probably means Trump’s the cleanest Pres since incompetent Jimmy Carter.
    Trump2020.

  16. Democrat rationalizing today vis a vis Mueller’s report:

    1. “This just proves Mueller was in Trump’s pocket the whole time.”

    2. “The inability of Mueller to find evidence of Russian collusion is all the more reason to believe it happened.”

  17. Right. Frum is a Shape Shifter. He’s not by far the only one infesting the commentariat as we all know by now.

The late Jerry Pournelle used to refer to him as The Egregious Frum.

  18. Adam Schiff is already saying he’ll subpoena Mueller to get “the truth.” Seriously, do these people actually think Mueller would file a false report with the Attorney General? Why? If he’d found evidence of “collusion” or any criminal behavior on the part of the Trump campaign, he’d have followed it to the bitter end.

No “collusion,” criminal or otherwise, with Russia, occurred, at least not by the Trump campaign. Clinton, maybe. I think the Democrats are on the way to destroying themselves.

  19. “Adam Schiff is already saying….”

He and his ilk have proven themselves adepts at spewing all kinds of nonsense (while somehow keeping a straight face).

They have to keep this witch hunt alive. Yep, the sick clown show must go on. Gotta Keep that ball in the air because if it falls, it will likely crush them.

Seems to be their main reason for existing at this point. (Besides, it’s great for MSM finances.)

And the hell with the country (that they’re trying so hard to “save” from Trump), its citizens and its laws…..

  20. “They don’t just believe Trump is guilty; they know he’s guilty. And if he’s guilty, what difference does it make if he was framed? And if the frame doesn’t work, keep looking for the real crime they absolutely know is there. And if they can’t find it, try another game of innuendo and smear. They are doing noble work.” – Neo

The same rationalization as all of their hoax hate crimes, when they can’t get the “haters” to cooperate with real ones.

  21. Google had more influence on the elections than Russia.
    Can we investigate collusion there?

    https://www.breitbart.com/tech/2019/03/22/research-google-search-bias-flipped-seats-for-democrats-in-midterms/

Epstein says that in the days leading up to the 2018 midterms, he was able to preserve “more than 47,000 election-related searches on Google, Bing, and Yahoo, along with the nearly 400,000 web pages to which the search results linked.”

Analysis of this data showed a clear pro-Democrat bias in election-related Google search results as compared to competing search engines. Users performing Google searches related to the three congressional races the study focused on were significantly more likely to see pro-Democrat stories and links at the top of their results.

As Epstein’s previous studies have shown, this can have a huge impact on the decisions of undecided voters, who often assume that their search results are unbiased. Epstein has called this the Search Engine Manipulation Effect (SEME).

According to Epstein’s study, at least 35,455 undecided voters in the three districts may have been persuaded to vote for a Democrat candidate because of slanted Google search results. Considering that each vote gained by a Democrat is potentially a vote lost by a Republican, this means more than 70,910 votes may have been lost by Republicans in the three districts due to Google bias. In one of these districts, CA 45, the Democrat margin of victory was just over 12,000 votes.

The total Democrat win margin across all three districts was 71,337, meaning that bias Google searches could account for the vast majority of Democrat votes. Extrapolated to elections around the country, Epstein says that bias Google results could have influenced 4.6 million undecided voters to support Democrat candidates.

  22. https://www.breitbart.com/the-media/2019/03/23/lara-logan-media-created-false-impression-mueller-indictments-russia-collusion/

“Appearing on Fox and Friends Saturday, former CBS News correspondent Lara Logan slammed the establishment media’s coverage of special counsel Robert Mueller’s now-concluded investigation, stating that journalists repeatedly presented the false impression that indictments brought by prosecutors were for collusion with Russia instead of other crimes.”

  23. “He’s [manju] doing the best with what he’s got right now, and it’s very little.”

You couldn’t find his brain cell with an electron microscope.

  24. What do they have if not the Trump-Russia Collusion narrative? Compared to Trump and his message, they offer nothing, they have nothing.

Their far-past-expiration-date message of socialism (something they have to rebrand every few years after the masses get hip that they are just fusty old commies with a new name) doesn’t stand up to the withering blast of reality Trumps offers, even delivers….so what else do they have?

    Nothing.

  25. “…Jerry Pournelle…”

Others are guided by the mellifluous “frumious”.

    (Lewis Carroll, ever the prophet.)

  26. So, the summary of Mueller’s Report has just been released and, according to reports, Mueller found no collusion, nor did the AG find any obstruction of justice.

You can bet, though, that those on the Left and Democrats will be screeching their heads off, and grabbing at any and every straw that would enable them to charge that this Report was compromised, wrong, incomplete, not definitive.

One early move appears to be that they will claim that, if all of the underlying evidence is not released, that will indicate a coverup, taint the Report, and invalidate it’s conclusions.

Of course, from what I’ve been hearing, under the law, most of the underlying documentation—grand jury testimony and transcripts, classified material, material that would compromise intelligence “sources and methods,” material concerning people who were investigated but not charged—cannot be released.

So, what can be publicly released is likely to be only a fraction of the total material gathered and deliberated on by Mueller and his investigators.

And those on the Left and Democrats are quite well aware of this.

In fact, Democrats were quite wiling to withhold similar material in the investigations of Fast & Furious, the Benghazi Investigation, and others.

  27. Yep only the true nutters will cling to collusion now that’s a big never mind.

    But on with obstruction.

  28. In a quick spin around MSM sites not one headline leads with collusion findings. Only obstruction.

Just like that the pivot happens.

  29. So Mueller was supposed to investigate the issue of Collusion and he did, finding none.

Mueller was not charged to investigate Obstruction of Justice, so he gave the information he gathered to the AG, so that the AG could make a determination of whether there was information sufficient to make a case for Obstruction, and the AG wrote he didn’t find evidence to support a prosecution for Obstruction.

    Case closed.

  30. ‘Case closed’

In a normal world, yes. But with these deranged people it will never be closed.

  31. “there are a goodly number who are convinced, even now, that Trump is the most uniquely evil man to ever hold the presidency, right up there with the demonic tyrants of history, and must be stopped.”

    Lefties projecting.
