Mueller has finally coughed up his report — 29 Comments

  1. Laughing at the despair over at dKos etc by some who are soooooo afraid Trump is not gonna get pilloried. Of course, even if Mueller finds Trump pure as the driven snow the Dems will investigate him and his family to the bitter end. Hopefully the public will punish the Dems and the usual suspects for the time and money wasted by this silliness.

  2. Ukraine’s top prosecutor divulged in an interview aired Wednesday on Hill.TV that he has opened an investigation into whether his country’s law enforcement apparatus intentionally leaked financial records during the 2016 U.S. presidential campaign about then-Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort in an effort to sway the election in favor of Hillary Clinton.

  3. Man, that was fast!

I’m not just talking about being faster than other Independent Council’s like Ken Starr, who went on for a gazillion years, but faster than most high-profile investigations into complex maters.

You take Michael Milken, for example (since Rudy is in the mix). They started investigating him well before Boesky pled guilty, which was 1986. He “ratted” out Milken, to use the phrase criminal’s prefer, but Milken doesn’t get indicted until 1989.

That’s 3+ years, probably 4 or 5, depending on when the investigation actually began.

Meuller really went at a rapid pace, especially considering everyone and their mother was lying about every other encounter with Russian operatives.

  4. Lots of crying and drinking tonight on the Left.

The tell for me came early this morning with James Comey’s sour grapes essay published in the NYTimes- someone gave him a heads up in the last day or two.

  5. You can tell that the Mueller mailed it in/was bought off meme is already spreading. And all of this despite the fact that he filled his team with people who donated to Clinton’s campaign and/or were invited to her victory celebration on November 8th 2016.

  6. Manju:

Were you interviewed by Meuller? When did you stop lying about your involvement with the Russians? We’ll have to read the repot to learn the truth about your sordid deeds! 😉

  7. The tell for me came early this morning with James Comey’s sour grapes essay published in the NYTimes- someone gave him a heads up in the last day or two.

    Yancey Ward: That’s my read.

  8. No further indictments despite assurances by 100’s of elected congress and senate members, former spooks and most of the press and almost every Dem. This puts them in the same intellectual and moral neighbourhood of flat earthers, no moon landing crackpots, etc. How can proven liars and kooks ever be trusted again? Giving such people control over your life as elected officials or alleged purveyors of truth(the media) is suicidal. If they were so wrong about something so big (treason, basically) can they be trusted to be right about anything? Trump et al should play this for all it’s worth and make ’em pay.

  9. No indictments.

Mueller wanted to get a plea from Jerome Corsi and he wasn’t even charged.

Time for a new Special Counsel to investigate the FBI, CIA and DOJ. Comey, McCabe et al.

  10. Gee Manju, I guess it was a witch hunt after all, huh?

Or is that too much to ask?

So now a Special Proscecutor can do a full investigation of the Deep State, for which there’s real evidence of treasonous activity, right?

Or do you lack even a smidgen of intellectual honesty?

  11. you have just GOT to listen to Scott Adams podcast #462

Episode 462 Scott Adams: The Mueller Witch Hunt is Evolving Into an “IF” Hunt

    Topics:

Adam Schiff seems sad that our President isn’t a Russian puppet
Real bad week for CNN…their 2 best hoaxes are down
They lost the Russian Collusion Hoax
They’ve (almost) lost the “Fine People” Hoax
My “Slaughter Meter” reading on if the 2020 was held today
The IF Hunt that used to be the Mueller Witch Hunt

  12. I want Mueller and his team to pay taxes on the millions they wasted on this fiasco. But then, where politics is concerned, I want thousands to suffer retribution for damages against the republic. That doesn’t include manju who is a gnat on the ass of an elephant.

  13. So now the Dems are going to investigate the investigation.

The Mueller who they had absolute faith and confidence in is now suspect as is his Report.

    Just great!

Somehow I don’t think that endless investigations are actually a political platform that carries a winning message come 2020.

Perhaps the Democrats ought to think about changing their name to the Nutty Cockamamie Party, the NCP.

  14. an investigation into whether his country’s law enforcement apparatus intentionally leaked financial records during the 2016 U.S. presidential campaign about then-Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort

Trump finally fired that Obama ambassador to Ukraine who was involved in the 2016 effort and the Manafort case.

  15. I think the key moment in all of this was the firing of Sessions. Everything seems to have changed after that point.

  16. We don’t know what it says yet, but the consensus seems to be that no collusion has been found. I get the idea from some tweets I’ve seen tonight that the media still doesn’t quite understand how much damage they’ve done to their credibility over this. For 2 years they’ve acted as though the result of the investigation was a foregone collusion, and if nothing is found, their partisanship is right out there for everyone to see. Of course, it’s been obvious for quite some time, but this really highlights it.

  17. “Meuller really went at a rapid pace, especially considering everyone and their mother was lying about every other encounter with Russian operatives.”

That’s it…Manju concedes that the whole 2-year enterprise was BS by praising Mueller’s investigative SPEED. “Look a squirrel!” in other words.

Now it’s time… “…let justice roll down like waters, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.” Investigate the 0 administration with the same ferocity.

  18. Now, no more excuses about declassification. Let the Games begin. BEWARE, Deep State…….

  19. no more excuses about declassification.

Trump has to declassify everything. Damn the torpedoes !

The FISA warrants, the Mueller “report” and everything else. Smoke out the conspirators.

  20. Meuller really went at a rapid pace, especially considering everyone and their mother was lying about every other encounter with Russian operatives.

For the record, the investigation has been ongoing since 31 July 2016, not counting the antecedent period during which the FBI was running informants. That’s 32 months worth.

    1. The quartet of Watergate prosecutors had, 31 months in, obtained convictions on three sets of consequential defendants: those who had conducted the Watergate burglary, those who plead-out to obstruction of justice in regard to Liddy’s operation, and those convicted at trial for obstruction of justice and related crimes.

    2. The interminable Walsh investigation (which began in Oct. 1986) had all major defendants under indictment and awaiting trial 32 months in and had obtained plea agreements from a number of others to testify to various crimes.

    3. The Whitewater investigation began in January of 1994. In September of 1996 they’d secured convictions at trial of the Clinton’s business partners the McDougals and also Clinton’s successor as Gov. of Arkansas, Jim Guy Tucker. In addition, Hellary’s law partner Webb Hubbell had entered a guilty plea.

All of the foregoing were in regard to the principal targets, all of whom were convicted of actual crimes, not mickey-mouse process offenses arising from the investigation itself. What you’ve had from Mueller is a mess of wheel-spinning, pR ploys, and harassment gestures. No accomplishments whatsoever.

  21. Nice to see Chris Matthews apoplectic last night.

Apparently Eagle Scout Mueller is now a bum in the eyes of the MSM.

  22. Apparently the Democrats are now saying–a la Whoppie Goldberg–that this was not really a Report-Report.

  23. Graham is calling for a Special Prosecutor, not sure why he’s not getting one.

I do think the FBI handling of the Clinton eMail crimes is full of criminal actions, and an investigation would lead to many indictments, relatively quickly.

The USA needs more investigations of the crimes of the US gov’t, more so than the crimes of private citizens, including those who worked for Trump.

I’m expecting the beginning of investigations against Dem supporting deep state criminals will lead to the Dems to call for an “ending of endless investigations”.

I’m also looking forward to Reps at family discussions laughing at their gullible Dem family members who hated Trump based on Fake News lies. And that they seem to be stupid to even tell that they’re being lied to.
Fool them once, shame on the foolers. Fool them twice, shame on those who are fooled. Fool them repeatedly for 30 months, and 30 times shame on shame on shame, mockery and jokes about stupidity of those who foolishly believed the lies.

Art D – good call out on the list of indictments in the Clinton whitewater crimes. And the big differences between the relevant crimes of the Clinton criminals, and the much less relevant crimes of Trump’s business folk.

  24. How about a historical quote:

“Our long national nightmare is over.”
    Gerald R Ford

(but of course it is not, since the democrats will continue their attempt to destroy this nation)

  25. Joy Reid on The Mueller Report: “It feels like the seeds of a cover-up are there”.

  26. “I want Mueller and his team to pay taxes on the millions they wasted…”

Well, yes, but don’t hold your breath.

And what about all those Americans whose lives (and families) were absolutely destroyed by these “moralist” Stalinists?

(“Collateral damage”, I guess, eh, Mr. Investigator Mueller, sir?…. Any thoughts on them, Mr. Rosenstein? Or any of you bloody criminals, assuming you think at all?—Oh, right, just doing your jobs. Right.)

How does one “pay” for that? What kind of “retribution” can one possibly exact for that?

(To be sure, there are many out there—members of the “moral party”—who are eager to destroy even more lives….)

    * * *
There were speculations back in the beginning that Mueller was deliberately loading his team with anti-Trumpers so that he could deny any later charges of his investigation being suborned by the President.
I don’t think that’s what he did, but judging by the reactions (and that’s just those few cited here in this thread), it appears it would have been a losing strategy anyway.
