To know AOC is to not love her — 51 Comments

  1. Terrific tune. That guitar-strumming dude on the right, by the way, singing ba-da-da-da-da-da as backing to Annette Kleinbard (stage name Carol Connors, who became a longtime singer-songwriter) is none other that Phil Spector, who penned “To Know Him Is To Love Him”, and who became the prolific “wall of sound” record producer but was convicted of second-degree murder in 2009 and has remained incarcerated since.

  2. Justice Democrats kicked her out? Link? Delightful.

The more people know her, the more of them realize she’s a blithering idiot.

  3. Cortez showed us why she, alone, had the wisdom and courage and leadership to take us into a brave new world when she announced her Green New Deal. The measure was immediately supported by Cory Booker, Kirsten Gillibrand, Kamala Harris, Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders and Amy Klobuchar . . .

So, who’s left on the bench?

  4. Kate on March 19, 2019 at 6:05 pm: “The more people know her, the more of them realize she’s a blithering idiot.”

After watching her pontificate on tee vee, I concluded that she thinks (using that word loosely and generously) on the level of a late-night college sophomore bull session; that she is a self-absorbed airhead. (And she graduated cum laude from Boston University, majoring in international relations and economics??)

My more recent experiences watching her have only confirmed my initial impression.

  5. Only person who needs to love her is Riley.

Speaking of him — how has he managed to keep such a low profile, given all the media exposure she gets?

  6. The “Democratic Socialists” had a casting call. One of them aid on TV that “thousands” showed up to be interviewed. This is what representative “Democratic Socialist ” sounds like. They put her out there,

  7. How apropos, a one hit wonder to point out a one hit wonder…
would you also have ode to the post turtle?

  8. how has he managed to keep such a low profile, given all the media exposure she gets?

    rocks are heavy..
heavy is hard to look under..

  9. Cenk Uygur knows how to pick them, eh? He’s the mastermind behind the Justice Democrats. AOC is really just a puppet. So it isn’t really her that is growing unpopular. It’s her puppet master. She only does what she’s told to do. What you need to know about her is that the Justice Democrats held casting calls for candidates. This doesn’t mean she’s not a true believer.

    This is her minder.

Chakrabarti is her chief of staff. He’s actually the one in charge. Note the pictured on his t-shirt. That’s this man.

    http://www.myinterestingfacts.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/Subhas-Chandra-Bose.jpg

Bose was an Indian anti-colonialist. Bose hated the British and the Raj. Bose was a real piece of work. He admired the Nazis and the Japanese militarists, and wanted to install a government that was a combination of the two. He lived in Germany during the ’30s, and then went to Japan during WWII when he was convinced HItler wouldn’t invade India and liberate it. He thought Japan would.

The Japanese formed units out of the Indians they captured. Again, nasty pieces of work. The Indians under Japanese leadership enthusiastically committed atrocities. What we know of as Rohingya in the west are called Bengalis in Myanmar. When the Japanese invaded what was then Burma the Bengalis switched sides. And they slaughtered 40,000 Buddhists in 1942.

This is why the Buddhists want to drive the Bengalis out of their country. Frankly I don’t blame them. Buddhists have been slaughtered by Muslim invaders for over a millennium. Does anyone recall when the Taliban demolished the Buddhist statues at Bamiyan in 2002? What found remarkable is that no one was curious about why there were these statues in Afghanistan in the first place. There are no Buddhists in Afghanistan.

In 1000 A.D. the Muslims invaded what once was a region of Buddhist and HIndu kingdoms and principalities. The Muslims slaughtered all the Buddhists who wouldn’t convert when the sword was put to their throats. Muslims will allow conquered people to live if they are “Ahlus al khittab;” people of the book. Primarily Jews, Christians, and Zoroastrians. These are people that Muslims believe have received divine revelation, although they also believe (and the exact opposite of what their own book the Quran teaches, but Muslims don’t memorized the Quran to learn from it but to get baracka or blessings) that everyone who received divine revelation before Islam have corrupted their revelation. They have the option of paying a crippling tax for “protection.” The jizya, a kind of tax that the mafia imposes on businesses. “Nice shop you have. It would be a shame if something happened to it.”

On the other hand people they consider pagans have only the choice of convert or die. And Muslims consider Buddhists, Jains, and Hindus to be pagans (I’m not sure about the Sikhs, which at the time of this initial invasion didn’t exist yet). The massacre was so great that it even disgusted the Mongols. The Mongols were no gentle doves themselves, but they had a head for business. They would destroy an entire city but that was “Pour encourager les autres.” They wanted people to surrender so they could make money and take advantage of their more advanced civilizations. For instance, the Mongols recognized that China had useful engineers. The Mongol empire was really only made possible after they first conquered China. The Mongols had no siege equipment or experience with siege warfare.

We all have to start somewhere, right?

When the Mongols headed west to conquer the cities of central Asia they brought Chinese siege equipment and engineers to operate that equipment with them.

The Muslims were on the other hand illiterate barbarians. I’m citing the later Muslim scholar ibn Khaldun as my source on that. He was amazed, for instance, that people bought the myth that Muslims brought civilization to Spain. The desert Arabs and their Berber vassals had no civilization to speak of. And they had no interest in it. They only wanted sex slaves.

As far as they were concerned if it wasn’t in the Quran they didn’t need to know it. If there was something they needed to know It was already in the Quran. So they unlike the Mongols had nothing to learn from the people they conquered. Unlike the Mongols they destroyed entire countries. Tjhat’s why there were Buddha statues in Afghanistan but no Buddhists. They killed them and enslaved them.

The Islamic slaughter in India was undoubtedly the largest holocaust in history. Between 1000-1500 A.D. they killed between 50 to 120 million people. Unlike the meticulous Germans they didn’t keep good records. Nobody really knows the extent of their genocide. But we know about it because they were proud of their massacres and we have numerous Islamic sources in which they brag on them. Keep in mind that Muslim rule in India lasted three hundred more years. Muslim generals used to compete with each other to see who could build the tallest mountain of severed Hindu heads. The prospect of ending up as a sex slave to a Muslim was so revolting that Indian women would light themselves on fire rather than be taken alive.

Basically, compared to Islam the Nazis and communists were slackers. And I don’t mean to make light of the suffering they caused. I figure once you kill your first million people you’re in a club that I don’t want to join. In fact, I would execute every member of that club with a smile on my face and a song in my heart.

It’s kind of odd that Bose had such hate for the British considering the British colonials were sweetness and light compared to the Muslim colonials. Bose also hated the U.S. That t-shirt Chakrabarti is wearing tells you everything you need to know about him, AOC, and the Justice Democrats. The fact he’s wearing it in a video means he deep down wants you to know he hates America. He won’t say it in those words, but he lets his t-shirt do the talking for you.

It’s not a pleasant subject. But as I said, being an intel officer is sort of like being a Marine. Once a Marine, always a Marine. Intel is a hard habit to break. And if you’re a good intel officer (or specialist) you have to tell people things they don’t want to hear.

So I needed to tell you what message AOC’s chief of staff is sending to America. I’m not making too much about that t-shirt. He wore that thing in a video produced by the Justice Democrats. I’ve seen some of their videos. They all agree with each other, and they aren’t hiding who they are.

  10. Mike, technically it was the Justice Democrats who held the casting call, not the Democratic Socialists. But then I doubt there is any daylight between the two.

AOC is just an actress. She no doubt believes in her role, but she’s not driving this train.

  11. “…once you kill your first million…”

The rest are free. All totalitarian monsters started small, but never stop until some outside power steps in to end the slaughter.

  12. Fox — as of now, “Published 10 hours ago”:

    https://www.foxnews.com/politics/ocasio-cortez-de-listed-from-board-of-justice-democrats-after-controversy

“The [Daily] Caller reports that Ocasio-Cortez and Chakrabarti took control of Justice Democrats in December 2017, until Ocasio-Cortez was removed from the board in June 2018 — though she was kept on as an “entity governor” until last week. Both Ocasio-Cortez and Chakrabarti were only officially removed from the board on March 15, according to documents obtained by the outlet, almost eight months after attorneys had said she was removed.” [SNIP]

  13. “To know, know, kno-o-w him….” Gosh, haven’t heard that in prob’ly 60 years … Shades of sophomore year in high school! And I still know the first verse of the lyrics. Memories….

Not my favorite song of the late 50s, but far from the ones I hated. (Little Richard, Fats Domino, Chuck Berry; anything that amounts to tuneless caterwauling. *g*)

Not the most sophisticated lyrics or music ever written, I must say. But a properly romantic piece for a 15-year-old to dream by.

    Thanks, Neo.

  14. Bose also hated the U.S. That t-shirt Chakrabarti is wearing tells you everything you need to know about him, AOC, and the Justice Democrats. The fact he’s wearing it in a video means he deep down wants you to know he hates America.

Steve57: I was wondering why he was wearing a t-shirt with a print of Sgt. Bilko…

Otherwise great stuff! Is the Muslim invasion the primary reason Buddhism all but vanished in India? I’ve heard conflicting things.

  15. “…The desert Arabs and their Berber vassals had no civilization to speak of. And they had no interest in it. They only wanted sex slaves.”

    Well, sex slaves and loot.

Muhammad, according to the myth of early Islamic history, preached for 12 years in Mecca and only recruited a few dozen followers. But then in 622 A.D. he made the Hijra to Medina (Yathrib at the time). There he became a warlord. When he could promise the Arabs that they could acquire women and war booty if they fought for him, and they would get eternal virgins if they got killed. Seventy two is the bare minimum. There is no limit to the number of specially designed heavenly sexbots that a really good Muslim can get. They also get the wives of Christians and Jews. And they are promised eternal erections so they can enjoy them all.

They remain married to their earthly wives as well. You have to wonder what’s in it for them if they avoid h3ll. Apparently they just stand around waiting for their husbands to pay attention to them.

Islam is, as James Madison put it in a letter to Thomas Jefferson, an obvious forgery. Which is exactly what the pagan Meccans said at the time. Muhammad was clearly making it up as he went along. It is simply a collection of beliefs that were popular in Arabia at the time. There were Jews and Christians in Arabia at the time, and the Arabs also had contact with Zoroastrian Persians. He didn’t get many Jewish, Christian, or Zoroastrian converts until he started putting swords to people’s throats. Because they recognized that he was borrowing all sorts of stories from a variety of sources. Jewish apocryphal stories, heretical Christian stories, Syriac hymns, pagan traditions, etc. The concept of heaven as a sensual paradise is Zoroastrian.

The Jews knew that Muhammad had no idea what was actually in the Torah. In the Quran the story of Abraham involves pulling him out of the “ur” of the Chaldeans. That’s based on an error committed by a Jewish scribe named Jonathon ben Uzziel in the fifth century when he was translating the Torah into Aramaic.

Ur is a Babylonian word that means city; in fact, it was a name of a city. Ben Uzziel didn’t speak Babylonian but a similar word exists in Hebrew. It means fire. So whoever wrote the Quran goes on at length about how Abraham angered the Chaldeans by destroying their idols and they decided to burn him to death. Allah had all the animals blow on the fire to put it out. All except the lizard, which why according to Islamic traditions house lizards must be killed.

Jews knew that story was entirely fiction. They knew that because they made it up. They were amused by ben Uzziel’s mistake and they basically made a fire side story for their children out of it. Similarly Christians laughed at the fact what they recognized as later heretical Gospels such as the Arabian Infancy Gospel made it into the Quran. The Issa of the Quran (that’s Syriac; in Arabic Jesus is called Yesua ahd had been for six hundred years so whoever wrote the Quran got the name wrong) is unrecognizable to Christians. The Quran has Issa speaking as soon as he’s born, he has to teach his own mother how to pick fruit, he makes birds out of clay and then breaths life into them and they fly off, and he’s got a mean streak. If I recall correctly he gets angry at one of his play mates and turns him into a pig.

Basically, the Issa of the Quran is the boy in that Twilight Zone episode who has the power to cast people into the corn field never to be seen again if they made him angry.

There were a group of people called the Sabeans in Arabia at the time. They had their own Shahada or profession of faith. “There is no god but Allah.” Allah, BTW, was the chief pagan deity. All Muhammad or whoever did was add the words, “And Muhammad is his messenger.” The Sabeans also prayed five times a day, at the same times Muslims do. The pagans did all the same rituals that the Muslims do when they make the Hajj and Umrah (the Hajj can only be made in the month of Ramadan, but Umrah, the “Lesser Pilgramige” is exactly the same thing but can be done at any time of the year). They circle the Kaaba seven times. Because that’s what their paganf forbears did. They worshiped seven heavenly deities. The sun, the moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn (before Galileo invented the telescope the other planets weren’t visible to the naked eye). Each object was thought to be a god or the home of a god.

Pagan Arabs were stone worshippers. So are Muslims. They’ll deny they’re worshipping their black stone, but that’s exactly what they’re doing. As a matter of fact, the early Muslims realized that and were bothered by that fact. Abu Bakr, the father of his favorite child bride Aisha and perhaps his closest friend, said to the black stone, “I know you are only a stone ahd don’t have the power to help or hurt anyone. I would not kiss you if I didn’t see the prophet kiss you.”

Oh, and if you ask Muslims about the black stone they’ll tell you that it’s a special stone from heaven. So it’s ok when they do it, whereas it was different when the Pagan Arabs were kissing it. In other words it’s a meteorite. Pagan Arabs also thought meteorites were holy objects.

The Muslims run between the hills of As-Safa and Al-Marwah seven times. They used to be outside of Mecca but as the population grew it enveloped them. The pagans thought the hills were two lovers who were petrified by the gods for committing adultery. The Muslims say they do it because after Abraham cast Hagar and Ishmael out they walked six hundred miles across a waterless desert instead of doing the rational thing and just heading to Egypt where she was from originally.

When they got to Mecca she ran out of water (nobody can carry that much water; they never would have made it as they would have run out of water and died in the desert) Ishmael was thirsty and kept crying so she raced back and forth between the two hills looking for a spring. She couldn’t find one, so she went back to where she had left Ishmael in the shade. And the Zamzam well miraculously sprang up.

According to Islamic traditions Abraham frequently visited. He must have owned an aircraft of some kind to make that kind of journey so frequently. It’s a ridiculous story, and Christians and Jews recognized it as such. So did the pagan Meccans. They nicknamed Muhammad “The Ear.” Because if somebody told him something, he believed it. And whatever he heard made it into the Quran.

If he even existed at all. Oddly, whoever wrote the Quran didn’t know that they were getting everything wrong from a Jewish and Christian perspective. Because the Quran constantly affirms the divine origin of the Torah, the Psalms, and the Gospels. And the Quran affirms their preservation and authority. In fact, the Quran tells Muhammad that if he has any doubts about the truth of his revelation to go and read the the earlier texts. Allah also commands Christians and Jews to judge the Quran by their own scriptures.

But whoever wrote the Quran didn’t take Allah’s advice. When Jews and Christians read it they quickly find that it is diametrically opposed to both the Tanakh and the New Testament. If Islam wasn’t such a violent and hateful creed it would be comical.

I’m not exaggerating when I call the Quran violent and hateful. I’m quoting the Ibrahim (Abraham) of the Quran.

“You have a good example in Abraham and his companions: they said to their people: “We totally dissociate ourselves from you, and from the deities that you worship instead of Allah. We renounce you and there has come to be enmity and hatred between us and you until you believe in Allah, the One True God.” (But you may not emulate) Abraham’s saying to his father: “Certainly I will ask pardon for you, although I have no power over Allah to obtain anything on your behalf.”7 (And Abraham and his companions prayed): “Our Lord, in You have we put our trust, and to You have we turned, and to You is our ultimate return.”

Allah commands Muslims to follow Ibrahim’s example when he pledges “enmity and hatred” forever between him and his Muslims and his own family unless they convert to Islam.

Bet you didn’t know Abraham was a Muslim. How do we know this? Because Muhammad tells us so. He and Ishmael also built the Kaaba. How do we know this? Because the inventer of Islam tells us so. Abraham was the first Muslim. How do we know this? Because whoever invented Islam tells us so.

Actually the Quran is very confused about who was the first Muslim. At times the Quran says that Adam was the first Muslim, but if you keep reading (it’s a painful read) it then says Abraham was the first Muslim, then Moses was the first Muslim, then Jesus, and finally Muhammad was the first Muslim.

  16. Thank you very much for taking the time to write up your posts, Steve. Wish this was taught to American students….

  17. You want to talk about decadence and degeneration? Here it is.

You want to see an actual “on the ground” example of where the policies advocated by the Left lead to?

Take a look at this measured, very well done, horrific new documentary, put out by Seattle’s TV station KOMO, titled “Seattle is Dying” at https://komonews.com/news/local/komo-news-special-seattle-is-dying

This is a documentary that everyone needs to see.

I last visited Seattle probably 30 years ago, and the city is in a gorgeous natural setting on the water but, even then, I noticed some dodgy people in their downtown area.

Now, it has become infinitely worse—its starting to resemble some Third World hell hole, and headed towards Calcutta—as the documentary linked above attests to, and the frustrated, emasculated cops there are powerless to do anything, because the Leftist Mayor and city council there refuse to take action.

    But it’s not just Seattle.

On tour around the West two years ago, I was appalled to see prominently advertised pot shops as we drove into Denver, squatters/homeless people’s tents lining many of the sidewalks and, as we were approaching downtown, here and there people lining the side of the road, many slumped over, leaning against fences and buildings, and apparently totally blitzed on drugs.

In downtown Salt Lake city we saw ragged, apparently homeless people standing along the main drag, holding up signs asking for food/money.

    It was a real shock.

Then, there is this equally horrific video of the gauntlet of drug users that people in San Francisco using the BART system have to run each day at https://sanfrancisco.cbslocal.com/2018/04/25/drug-users-san-francisco-civic-center-bart/

In LA they currently have a Typhus epidemic, and it’s spreading. See https://needtoknow.news/2019/02/typhus-epidemic-spreads-across-los-angeles-due-to-homeless-population-and-rat-infested-piles-of-trash/

Due to Leftist policies, in city by city, the basic elements that make for civilization are starting to break down.

  18. (And she graduated cum laude from Boston University, majoring in international relations and economics??)

Um, no. International relations with a minor in economics. If it worked at BU the way it commonly does, the IR major required you take a menu of economics courses: principles, intermediate micro, intermediate macro, and a course in international economics focused on trade with some reference to monetary matters. It’s a reasonable wager she added a couple of courses to the menu and was permitted to declare a minor. The common course sequence is such that it should save those who’ve completed it from talking like an idiot a la Ralph Nader or Barbara Ehrenreich. (IR programs are commonly a mess, IMO).

  19. Now, it has become infinitely worse—its starting to resemble some Third World hell hole,

For crying out loud. The homicide rate in the Seattle municipality is 25% below the national average. The robbery rate is about 30% below the national average and about 1/2 the country’s metropolitan average. Per capita income is, per the Census Bureau, 43% above national means. That’s the core city we’re talking about, not including the suburbs.

My relations in Seattle have been planning to leave because it’s just too bloody expensive.

  20. Art Deco–Just take a look at the documentary, and tell me if you’d want to live in Seattle.

  21. the IR major required you take a menu of economics courses:

I suspect that Economics courses are very different from what they were when I was in college. Marxism was not a feature of Economics then.

  22. Given Seattle’s leftist bent, I can’t imagine that the people at KOMO were a collection of knuckle-dragging right wing nuts, and out to do an undeserved and false hit job on their city.

It seemed to me that they were just so saddened and appalled by what had happened to their city that they felt that they just had to make this documentary, to call attention to what has been happening there.

P.S.–When I last visited Seattle I was visiting people in the Queen Anne neighborhood, a very high end neighborhood, on a high elevation, overlooking Puget Sound, and the rest of the city, down below, was a much different story, even then.

  23. Islam is, as James Madison put it in a letter to Thomas Jefferson, an obvious forgery. Which is exactly what the pagan Meccans said at the time.

I have considered it a Jewish heresy for years. There were a lot of Jews in Arabia at the time of Muhammed, even Jewish warlords.

Tom Holland has been in hiding since he wrote “In the Shadow of the Sword.

  24. The more shocking news would be that she is *not* becoming less popular, given that she talks incessantly and — as a typical 28 year old — is not very wise and has zero knowledge or experience with practical solutions to real-world problems. That’s a pretty toxic brew.

  25. Her generation thinks they’re bringing something new to the table with their socialism obsession. Which establishes only one thing, really — that her generation is poorly educated and informed.

We’ve seen this movie before, and it doesn’t end well. Next!

  26. Steve57, an interesting discussion, and I have on my bookshelf a tome called “The Muslim Jesus,” which I bought in Cairo, containing a collection of the myths about “Issa” circulating in the Muslim tradition, some of them from the Qur’an and many from hadiths and other stories. “Issa” in these stories is quite a different guy from “Yeshua” in the Christian scriptures.

I looked up Jonathan ben Uzziel. According to Wikipedia, he was one of the tannaim, writers of Targums from about 10-220 CE (AD), so I think your fifth century date for him may be in error. But aside from that minor quibble, your post was instructive. Thanks!

  27. Mike K, St. John of Damascus considered Islam a Christian heresy. Since it mangles both Jewish and Christian traditions, it’s probably both.

I didn’t know Tom Holland was in hiding. “In the Shadow of the Sword” is a good book.

  28. Art Deco–Just take a look at the documentary, and tell me if you’d want to live in Seattle.

I visit every few years. I’d be happy to live there given the right circumstances, but the rents are a challenge. There are 2.7 million people in the dense settlement in King, Snohomish, and Pierce Counties. In a population that size, you’re going to find some skid row characters to document. In a population one-tenth that size, you’ll find skid row characters for your video.

  29. But the NAABP (National Association for the Advancement of Blond People) love AOC because she has single handedly destroyed the stereotype of the dumb blond. When somebody makes a dumb blond joke the blonds point to AOC to demonstrate that blonds aren’t so dumb.

  30. LeClerc: As far as I’m concerned, you’re quite correct, if the blonde one is a female.

In French, “blonde” is the feminine form of the adjective and “blond” is the masculine (it depends on the gender of the noun it modifies). It’s been used that way in English since the day of the dinosaur, or the Norman Invasion, up until fairly recently. Nowadays of course we American-English speakers don’t bother with such niceties as orthodox orthography — indeed both spelling and the meanings of words depend mostly on what you last read on your “texting” device. *SNARK*

So, we are informed (I just checked) that “blond” is quite prevalent, and many Authorities consider it acceptable.

    .

Now ask me about the conjugations of -ing and -ink words. (Swing/SWANG/Swung, Sink/SANK/Sunk, Shrink/SHRANK/Shrunk, etc.) Grrrrrrr.

  31. LeClerc: it’s “blond” if you’re referring to a male human, “blonde” if you’re referring to a female. Both forms of the adjective are loan words from French, which typically tacks an “e” onto the end of adjectives that refer to feminine nouns or female humans and animals. Thus “le chat gris” (a grey male cat) but “la chatte grise” (a grey female cat).

  32. St. John of Damascus considered Islam a Christian heresy.

Well, in a way, Christianity is a form of Judaism. The Muslims have gone further in dietary laws, etc,.

  33. To Julie and PA Cat: Thanks for setting me straight.

I am (as it turns out) a dumb “blond”. POTUS is an ersatz “blond”.

Kirsten Gillibrand appears to be a “blonde” – but her hair color is probably as dubious as her political positions.

  34. For me blond/blonde is like feckless/gormless. Every year or three I have to look them up to keep them straight.

I wouldn’t bet I could pass a pop quiz on either at the moment.

  35. AOC and the other Democrat candidates are advocating a whole slew of very pernicious things.

Among Democrat candidates for President I’ve certainly seen Beto and Elizabeth Warren say that they are for legalization of Marijuana, and it wouldn’t surprise me if all the Democrat candidates are ultimately for such legalization.

Of note is the fact that, due to the efforts of those who cultivate marijuana, today the amount of, the potency of THC, the active ingredient in marijuana, is much higher, and is 20-30 times more powerful than the THC that was in marijuana from, say, the1960s.

Marijuana is now legal in ten states and in D.C., and it is almost inevitable that in the near future marijuana will be legal in the entire country. Moreover, right now, it is apparently pretty easy to get a medical marijuana card.

Now comes this brand new study this week in Lancet, the British medical journal, which reports the results of a large-scale study–conducted across a number of European countries and cities, and studying more than a thousand people who presented to mental health facilities with their first psychosis–in order to investigate the relationship between marijuana use—particularly the daily use of today’s high potency marijuana—and the incidence of psychotic disorders, like schizophrenia.

    Bottom line?

Overall, those who used high potency marijuana on a daily basis had a four times greater chance of having a psychotic disorder than those who did not use marijuana at all.

In two cities where the availability/use of high potency marijuana was especially high—in London, and in Amsterdam—the incidence of psychosis among study participants vs. that of those who did not smoke Marijuana was dramatically increased—to five times greater in London, and to nine times greater in Amsterdam.**

Additional commentary by an MD, a medical expert on FOX tonight indicated that some of those who had what were apparently marijuana precipitated psychoses could be treated successfully and brought back to health, and some could not, their psychoses were apparently permanent .

    ** See https://www.thelancet.com/journals/lanpsy/article/PIIS2215-0366(19)30048-3/fulltext

  36. Cont’d –Thus, despite what it’s advocates say, marijuana is not just a fairly harmless “recreational” drug, it is a very real and serious menace, with drastic and apparently sometimes permanent deleterious effects on the individuals who smoke it.

See also other earlier studies such as this one here at: https://health.ucdavis.edu/publish/news/newsroom/10874

  37. P.S.–I can see the argument now, with some marijuana advocates saying, well, some people react one way to marijuana and seem not to be harmed, some people may be particularly sensitive to the effects of marijuana, and could possibly be harmed.

My point is this, with the apparently fairly likely possibility of dramatically bad–and potentially permanent–consequences if you do happen to be particularly sensitive to the effects of marijuana–particularly to the effects of today’s super potent marijuana–why roll the dice?

    * * *
I ran into the difference with Francis (male) and Frances (female) because I knew people of both sexes.
But, it’s good to know that AOC is not only feckless but gormless as well.

  39. I haven’t been to Seattle for thirty years but I’ve been to San Francisco several times over the last few and I’m always stunned by people who sing it’s praises. Every time I step over a homeless person marinating in their own excrement – in the Tech/Financial district (!) I think of Mos Eisley Spaceport and the immortal words of Obi Wan Kenobi. ‘You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villany. We must be cautious.’
The Left. ‘By their fruits you shall know them.’

  40. Let me see if I have this orthography right. If I am referring to a female it is spelled brunette but if I am referring to a male it is spelled brunett.

  41. Kirsten Gillibrand appears to be a “blonde” – but her hair color is probably as dubious as her political positions.

Almost certainly. I’d wager 95%+ of the women over 30 who have blonde hair are chemically-assisted in that endeavour. I think strawberry blondes commonly retain it (or their hair turns red), but they’re a small subset of the whole. A dear cousin of mine who had blinding platinum hair at age 6 and handsome golden hair at age 14 had standard brown hair by age 35. One of her more proximate cousins (who had golden hair much of her youth) has gone the bottle-blond route, and it looks wretched. I have one contemporary who I’m quite sure is naturally blond. He’s an albino.

  42. Huxley, yes, the Muslim slaughter of the Buddhists is the reason why they were nearly wiped out in India by the beginning of the nineteenth century. They began to rebound in the twentieth century. It was the Muslims who caused them to reconsider their traditional pacifism lest they be entirely wiped out.

Kate, you could very well be correct. I was working from memory.

  43. In case no one else has mentioned it, although Labs are very smart dogs, until they reach the age of around two years old, they are the stupidest and clumsiest dogs around. Still smart, but stupid, if that makes any sense.

I’ve owned several over the years.
