This is what it’s come to — 21 Comments

  1. According to the dictionary a privilege is a benefit you are granted so what she is claiming is that whites receive benefits that blacks are denied. White privilege is really all about back victimization.

  2. She may not receive any official penalties at CNN.

But in a just world, she’d never hear the end of it. (Nor should she! She made a laughingstock of herself.)

  3. White privilege is a concept inspired by an early to mid-twentieth century belief in “Jew privilege” that was favored by left-wing regimes and activists. It is socially and politically justified by the doctrine of diversity or color judgment.

  4. Did she apologize? A real apology, not one of those ‘sorry, not sorry’ things.

  5. The modern left and Democrats in a nutshell. All people are defined according to their group identities, and it’s okay to hate “white men” but nobody else.

  6. No penalties, her statement was totally justified. He is a Foxer. Overrides mere skin color with Deeper Truth. She was not only right, she should be promoted. And, at CNN, will be.

  7. This identity stuff in our current times has the making of a good old Gilbert & Sullivan operetta, he is the very model of a modern white supremacist because he chooses his wording so very carefully and then some chorus. He don’t sounds black so it’s not fair to judge says she of he, not fair at all.

    You’re kidding, right?
She did one of those quasi-apologies the Left is famous for.
She was sorry she defamed him in public and got caught, because her “people” (staff, presumably, who should be fired even if she is not) didn’t tell her he was black; if they had, she would never have uttered the words “white privilege.”
Of course, if he HAD NOT been black, she would have felt perfectly justified in denigrating his career and personal worth by attributing it all to “white privilege” and none of it to his obvious talents and perseverance.
And she learned nothing from his very clear explanation of the banality and irrelevance of the SJW term that was her go-to choice for sneering at him.

And leftists wonder why we have Trump…. and Candace Owen with #Blexit, #Walkaway (multi-racial), and now #CantBullyUs (Black Conservatives).

  9. She doesn’t sound very “black,” for that matter. I know nothing about her, but I wonder if her career has moved forward entirely because of her hard work and talent, or at least in part because of her use of identity. Her accusation here argues for the latter.

  10. HAHAHA. She presumed he was white probably based on racist, stereotypical assumptions of how black men sound and think. All alike.

  11. The difficult thing about white privilege is seen in the fact that, evidently, dear ol’ Bill Cosby had enough of it to go to his head.

Oprah Winfrey has an impressive stack of it too, but she has not been swigging bottle after bottle and getting pie-eyed on it. Campaigning for Stacey Abrams, she ‘took off’ the talk-show queen persona and showed up as a straight advocate. I see her continuing this ‘style’, in other Democratic Party venues.

But it’s a tragedy for the Left to use it indiscriminately, since normal citizens live on a pretty darn short privilege-leash … and they know it. They fill no new pews, but Trump does.

  12. Kate,

I can imagine many ways in which she advanced her career. Will not mention more, polite company, and all.

  13. The better response is to reply “not white privilege – American privilege. Being born an American citizen. Those who don’t think so should try living in some other country for a couple of months and see.”

  14. Remember the guy (black) who was shocked to learn that the Righteous Brothers are white?

Why do some people feel the need to pigeonhole folks they encounter into racial categories based on their political point of view, singing style, etc.?

Who’s the racist in this exchange? Hint: it’s not the radio host.

  15. In the category of “this is what it’s come to,” I noticed this article today–video included– about a new PETA video that is supposed to persuade men to “go vegan.”

Well, looking at this hilarious and eminently cringeworthy video, it seems to me that PETA may well have plumbed the depths of idiocy and struck rock bottom.

Unfortunately, given the End Times that we are apparently in the midst of, I’m afraid that someone or some organization can always dig deeper.

WARNING: Rampaging pornographic vegetables–don’t watch this video while eating, drinking, driving, or operating machinery.
